Maybe it was because I've been growing my hair out since October or that Alex's schedule is always the opposite of mine, but I was really excited to finally get my haircut today. I've always been one for really short layers, but last October I was told that my hair layers were too short so I made it a goal to not get my hair cut til' summer. So today when I stopped by my favourite salon Paisley & Stripe, I told Alex that we had some major detox to do.

It's a very bittersweet feeling being at the very end of my high school career. Though I was never a Charlie from Perks of Being a Wallflower, there were certainly moments when I wanted to be done.

Doing some exploring before I graduate high school!
My last Monday of high school is the 13th!

Hello May

May 11, 2013

My last Monday of high school is the 13th!

I have been so busy lately, and the last thing I want to be doing is studying, instead I am scrambling to finish my senior year of high school. Who knew these days would go so slow?

The next week and a half are crammed with: finals, AP tests, grad parties, and mandatory events for seniors, woo!  There are a few things that are getting me by: The Great Gatsby Soundtrack, making macarons, only having to take 1 final, and the Gatsby premiere this Thursday will be the highlight of my week!

Luckily, it's that time of year again when the Metropolitian Museum of Art's Annual Costume Institute Gala Ball occurs, and makes up for my poor dressing. Nevertheless, everyone who is anyone is at the ball. I narrowed down my favourite looks to 8. RIGHT? It was pretty hard, and I didn't even choose Gwen Stefani or Beyonce this year! Hands down my favourite look is Nicole Richie. She loooks sooooooooooo perf. She dyed her hair light blue and rocked a sick earcuff. If that's not punk than I don't know what is. Who can say no to Katy Perry in the new Dolce & Gabbana collection? Florence & Cara are perfect goth ladies. Rooney Mara always gets the job done in Givenchy, man her stylist is a genius. I hate Miley Cyrus's Backstreet Boy hair, but her dress is siiiiiick mesh is pretty punk. Donatella looking swagged out in leather + studs, and SJP rockin' it Carrie Bradshaw meets a maharaja from India.

Lately I've been falling back in love with Urban Outfitters. I took a hiatus from shopping there a few years ago because I wanted to try to save some money and I was spending way too much. I always use to scour their sale section finding nothing, but the other day I was in forensics class and decided to check it out. THERE WAS A HUGE VARIETY OF GOOD LOOKING CLOTHES FOR ONCE! In particular I've been keeping my eye out for new shoes because most of my heels/wedges are worn down.

I saw these rad Deena & Ozzy shoes (love D&O). I liked the plastic looking toe cover and black is always good. I always like buying shoes that are versatile. For the most part the reviews were good, and as soon as I could picture a Rachel Zoe approving outfit, I also found two lounge worthy perfect-for-college v-necks in crimson and dark green for 9.99 each, these shoes for 29.99, and a scholarship interview worthy pencil skirt for a whopping 1.99 WHAT (which indeed I needed to get free shipping). The only unfortunate thing about buying shoes online is that even though reviews may say things, shoes still may not fit. When I tried these shoes on there was more room in the back than my size 9 elephant feet could handle. Sadly, I will be sending them back, but luckily UO gives free returns. Oh well!

I am seriously loving this warm spring weather. Any day when I can wear a floppy hat and a sundress is a good day. I am wearing a dress from Marshalls, a floppy hat from XXI, and Vera Wang heels. I would've had added a belt, but the one I want is currently not in my possession. I plan on buying plenty of hats for summer, and fall. Bring out my inner Rachel Zoe. I'm spending my Wednesday night watching a John Hughes marathon, Sixteen Candles is on!
