Fall is here! You know what that means? Fall fashion with Chanel!

I was asked by the folks at ModCloth to create a style board with 3 layering items (an undershirt, top, sweater or cardigan) using ModCloth items, and discuss why these pieces work specifically for fall and my style.

 First and foremost I believe that basics are the most important for fall fashion. Splurging on the basics and mixing up your outfit with shoes and accessories is not only a great way to save some cash for a rainy day, but also a way to ensure the pieces in your wardrobe last as long as possible.

The items I chose from ModCloth were: loft concert cardigan, you put my love on crop top, and peaceful visage top. All items can be found on my Polyvore set, here.

I love layering black crop tops over collared shirts, there's something purely elegant about the combination. It creates great contrast and you can add more layers on top of that! I usually go for a leather jacket, but any cozy jacket or piece of outerwear will work. In this case, I'd opt for the loft concert cardigan which looks super cozy for cool autumn nights. I always run a bit cold so I thought this cardigan was the perfect way to add a bit of trendiness and a "one last hoorah" for summer and the music festivals like Coachella which make summer so wonderful.

 Lastly, pull on your favourite pair of jeans and throw on a pair of Chelsea boots, a western hat, and you're styling for fall!
