Cozy Plaid

March 24, 2016

Hello Spring! Hello friends! Emma and I are back at our creative collaboration and I've been dying to share!

It snowed today in Kansas and it got me thinking about seasonless dressing. I've learned in my Principles of Fashion Forecasting class that there has been a change in definite fashion seasons to seasonless, and this idea is truly revolutionary. I personally like the idea of seasonless dressing because I get "extra mileage" out of my pieces, such as this sweet vest. Plus, I can wear my pieces throughout the seasons.

I had wanted this Adam Lippes for Target belted layering vest for quite some time. Physically getting it was quite a journey, because I insisted upon trying it on in store. Sadly, I couldn't find it in any stores and couldn't get it online so I waited to get it from eBay. If you get the same vest I would suggest sizing down, I would have preferred the extra small. I love the coziness of this vest I can just curl into it. This vest is great for all seasons, especially to transition from fall to spring. I usually wear this vest with black, white, or grey plain tops but would love to venture out and find a new color it works with. Any suggestions?

These shoes are Design Lab Lord & Taylor Koallan Leather Chelsea Booties. I was on a search for a new pair of high heeled Chelsea's since my H&M pair have been worn out. I wanted a leather pair since Chelsea's are my signature shoe. I was considering a shorter mid size heel before I grazed the shoe shelves at Lord & Taylor in Virginia. I couldn't believe my eyes $33 for a pair of perfect leather Chelseas?! I called my mother immediately to convey my frugal search efforts in the most contrary place. The Delman pair I have listed is a near replica of my Koallan shoes, Aldo also has a similar pair on clearance.

On my lips I have Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture number 19 fuchsia. I love the pop of color this lipstick brings to my monochromatic look! Emma actually chose this color and I think it's going to be my signature color to wear with this vest.
