Citrus Queen

July 1, 2016

I think my obsession for fruit print clothing is at an all time high.

Last summer I stumbled on a cherry print dress from Modcloth and the fruit obsession has grown ever since. I initially had wanted this dress (Pull Up a Cherry in Citrus from Modcloth) but it was sold out and never seemed to be coming back. As luck would have it my favorite e-retailer, eBay sold the same dress.

I wanted this sweet citrus dress for a sweet surprise date my boyfriend planned for our anniversary.
On our way downtown we stumbled on the beautiful Kansas City I'm So in Love mural (below). I had been wanting to take pictures in front of it for the blog. It was so fitting that on our anniversary and our night out we ran into the mural, of course we had to take a picture. Ultimately, I love this dress, it's so comfy, and the print is truly the essence of my being.

Keep reading this is my biggest post yet!

I'm also sharing these these sweet, sweet, fantasy shades I won from an instagram giveaway. I love anything vintage and SoLovesVintage let me choose something from their site. I had a hard time deciding between Givenchy earrings and this pair of sunglasses, but I couldn't let them go. Now I'm always wearing these cate eye glasses. I highly recommend SoLoves accessories section! Thanks for hosting the giveaway Kenna & Lulu!

In a Voxbox I got which feels like ages ago... I received the L’Oréal Cleansing Balm VoxBox courtesey of Influenster. If you've never heard of cleansing balms, they are the new thing in the hair world. My hair salon Paisley & Stripe has been using cleansing cream since 2014 so I've had awhile to get accustomed to them. A cleansing balm essentially cuts out shampoo & conditioner and replaces its entirety. Cleansing conditioners (balm) do magical things like detangle, tame, condition, etc. However, I've tried drugstore cleansing balms before and haven't been won over by the results to be honest with you. Maybe it's because I've been using Purely Perfect lately (reformulated to New Wash). So the good and the bad of this product. Let's go!
The good is that it cuts out shampoo and conditioner to just one bottle. It left my hair feeling good, but I was not amazed or "wowed" by the results. The packaging is sleek and definitely cute!

The bad is that this stuff SMELLS, it smells really, really strong. This product has a raging chemical smell. In addition, if you have long hair you should use 6-8 pumps of this stuff. That's a lot! Plus you should wait five minutes for this stuff to soak in your hair. Lazy water conscious girls like me don't have time for that! Unlike other drug store cleansing balms I can't do this one. It smells like straight chemicals and just freaks me out. On the other hand, I do love L'Oréal's straightening shampoo and conditioner. I'll vouch for it.

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. All opinions are always, always, always my own.

I hope you have a wonderful, sweet July!
