Tie It Up

April 7, 2017

Hi friends! I promise I haven't been neglecting the blog. Life has just been getting in the way lately but I'm hitting back and talking about my new favorite piece.
Lately I feel like I’ve been dressing in a capsule wardrobe. I am always scouting for new versatile pieces to add to my Marie Kondo'd closet. I had my eye on this white HD in Paris tie blouse from Anthropologie, but as usual it was out of my budget. So I turned to my favorite place to shop these days, eBay. I found this blouse new with tags for a whopping $25 with free shipping.

I am wearing a 00 p for reference. The fit is comfortable but a bit tight on the arms, oh well. This blouse has beautiful details and stitching. When I was on spring break I saw a style just like this in a H&M in Arlington (VA), but the tie part was thick and a bit overbearing so I'm glad I took the plunge and bought this piece. Anthropologie's quality is just incredible. I adore this blouse, and honestly feel like I could wear it everyday, it’s so stylish. I can wear it with every pair of jeans I have and for footwear it goes the same, endless possibilities. Espadrilles, loafers, birkenstocks, chelseas, and the list goes on!
In other news I graduate on May 13, which is scary and exciting all at once. I've had an ambivalent relationship with college, but my time in undergrad has taught me a lot about who I am and who I want to be and I'm just so grateful.

I am moving forward with attending grad school next fall to pursue my MBA, and have, fortunately, been able to discover more about ways I will be able to fund this study so I don’t have to worry about paying a giant upfront cost. I haven't quite figured out my summer plans yet, but I'm taking it slow with a little advice from John Steinbeck who once said, "Don't worry about losing. If it is right, it happens - The main thing is not to hurry. Nothing good gets away."
I hope everyone is having a beautiful April, I'm enjoying fresh cut lilacs and another beautiful spring. I'm so excited for this month, its possibilities, and the full moon in Aries on the 11th. What have you been adding to your closet?

  1. Congrats on your plans to pursue an MBA! Good luck. I love your nails - such a pretty color. And that top is fabulous. Such a classic piece that will definitely fit a paired down wardrobe. I am in the middle of reading her book and can't wait to see what changes it brings to my life.

    1. Thanks lady, its nerve wrecking and exciting all at once. I am such a big fan of the tie blouse style, I'd love another color. I need to read her book, I've read and listened to so many articles and podcasts. I'm sure its revolutionary!

  2. I seriously love the top! You're so luck you were able to snag it on ebay for such a great price! I totally agree that anthropologie has such amazing pieces. Unfortunately they're often too pricey for me lol. But everyone once in a while I find something I love on sale so I guess it all works out :) And congrats on almost graduating and your MBA plans! I'm thinking of pursuing mine at some point but it will probably be in a few years (:

    1. Thanks Mili! eBay is such a game changer especially with last season Anthro pieces. I don't go to sale pieces that much because its more of an impulse for me and I don't end up wearing the clothes very much, sigh. Minimizing is hard.

  6. Girl, that's awesome that you were able to find the shirt for so much cheaper, I love when that happens! It looks so good on you and is such a chic versatile piece. I know you must be so excited about graduating and starting grad school in the fall, an ending to one chapter and the beginning of a new :) I love that quote you've shared, it's so true. 12. Anthro have the best pieces, both clothing and homewares. I'm so obsessed with that store. Shame there's a massive ocean separating us otherwise I'd probably take up residence in store hahahaha. Love that shirt, such a cool eBay find. Wish I had half your luck!

    1. Agreed, Sonia. Anthropologie is the best, truly my weakness. I lived there when I interned haha it was a good time. I am an eBay troll I am always on the hunt for pieces I want at 90% off lol. Thanks for stopping by!
