Hi friends! I partnered with Collectively, NIP + FAB, and Rodial to try some new products. Both Rodial and Nip + Fab were completely new brands to me so it was exciting to add new products into my beauty routine.
Greetings loved ones! I've been busy with my new job, enrolling in grad school, and enjoying these cooler Kansas days. Recently I had the pleasure of meeting and working with the beautiful Brenna Boat of BMB Photography. We've started a working collaboration that I'm so delighted about. Brenna is so talented and has taken her craft to the windy city for the summer. This is the first post in our collaboration series! I am so excited to share our work together and am looking forward to what BB x JMC is going to bring.
Truth be told I've never been an outfit repeater. Cue Kate from Lizzie McGuire, "Lizzie McGuire you're an outfit repeater!"

It wasn't until I decided to Marie Kondo my closet (something I don't think I'll ever stop talking about) that I made peace with myself about being an outfit repeater. In all honesty there is nothing wrong with wearing something that makes you feel good consistently so long as its clean and fits right?

This Victoria Beckham for Target Women's Bee Print Button Down Top has been one of my chronic outfit repeater picks. My best friend Victoria bought this top for my 22nd birthday and that's probably why I choose to wear it so much. Not only is it a whimsical spin on a button down, but it makes me feel loved too, and its pretty amazing that clothes can give you that feeling.
I love this top because other than being such a sweet gift, it's surprisingly so versatile. The mandarin collar is also unique since I don't own a lot of mandarin collar tops. I love styling it with different styles and washes of denim. Although I tie this top in a knot I could wear it tucked in too.

I'm in love with these yellow Burberry tie up espadrille sandals. I found them at a local thrift store for $12. There was a little damage on the inside of the sandals but they are so comfortable and stylish! I have quite a bit of yellow in my closet and these shoes are perfect when I feel like matching my shoes and dress.
I hope everyone is having an incredible June. Can you believe its almost July?! I have so much content coming to JMC that I cannot wait to share. Another virtual hug to Brenna for these incredible photos, can't wait for you to see more from our collaboration next week.

When I first left for college I made a pact with myself to eventually make my delicates drawer embarrassment free, a place of comfort and joy rather than an overlooked and neglected part of my wardrobe.

April Sephora Play 2017 Review

Greetings & salutations! What a whirlwind it has been getting back to Kansas City. I graduated, moved back home to suburbia, I've started a new job I'm so excited about, and managed to get a manicure. I feel like life has been a mile and minute, and I haven't even got to slow down and weigh in on the Victoria Beckham for Target collection Although the busyness doesn't seem to be quitting as I dive into my fourth week at work, and have gone back to wearing black Lacoste polos at the Bucks a few days a week. I'm excited to be back blogging regularly and share this post =')
Almost three months since its dropped and I'm finally weighing in on the Victoria Beckham for Target collection. I  had two major items on my wishlist this top, the Poplin Gathered Waist Top and the Gingham Twill Peplum Blouse. There were other pieces I craved like the Orange One Shoulder Dress with Bow and Scallop Trim and the Blue Stripe Poplin Gathered Waist Dress but since the collection has gone 40% off I figured I'll wait and find them on eBay when I'm craving a new dress.

All in all I purchased this Poplin Gathered Waist Top and the Gingham Twill Peplum Blouse. I ended up having to return the Gingham Twill Peplum Blouse because it had a weird fit which was a shame. My friend Victoria bought me the Bee Print Button Down Top for my birthday, its adorable, and certainly helped compensate for my returned peplum. I'll do an outfit post on it soon!
I think what I loved most about this gathered top is that it didn't look like anything I had in my closet. This piece so unique and architectural. I feel like I need to do one of those "Save Vs. Splurge" graphics on this top because after some investigation this $30 blouse looks just like VB's $265 Victoria Victoria Beckham Empire-waist cotton-poplin top. Quite a few pieces from the Target collection are more affordable options to her popular designer label pieces which is actually pretty amazing.

Honestly this was one of the best purchases I've ever bought from Target. I am pleased with the structure and the material. I think its versatile and perfect for so many events. I wore this top to an art museum, dinner, a family dessert celebration, and to a restaurant event for work.
My latest obsession are these Miu Miu sunglasses. They may or may not be one of the main pairs Emma Roberts wears as Chanel #1 in Scream Queens, but in black of course. They were a splurge but the glitter detailing on the sides is my favorite part. Plus Miu Miu packaging is impeccable.
As summer begins, I have to admit I'm excited. I have an undergraduate degree under my belt and I'm working for a company I adore. I'm so happy to be back in KC, find me at First Friday's or sitting on a bench by the glass labyrinth at the Nelson. I'll probably be wearing this top. Hope everyone is enjoying their June with big iced caramel machiattos, donuts, and open hearts!
