So I Bought a Jumpsuit

August 13, 2017

When I interned at Anthropologie last summer there was this really great jumpsuit we had in store. It was navy, with an interesting diamond print, and a tiny cutout detail at the bust. Every so often it I'd walk by it and then have a silent debate with myself about whether this jumpsuit could be a feasible part of my wardrobe. Was it too Carrie Bradshaw? Not enough? The questions seemed endless.
After almost a year I decided to go out on a limb and search for this jumpsuit on eBay. Originally this jumpsuit retailed at $148, which was totally out of my then intern budget. To my surprise I found this jumpsuit in my size, pre-owned, and with a slight imperfection for almost 85% percent off. My Mom fixed the snag, I dry cleaned it, and voila!

I love that jumpsuits can be accessorized in so many ways. For me I chose to wear a simple necklace from Dogeared, my MBMJ watch, a bold lip, vintage sunglasses, and I brought along my J. Crew silk clutch.
I've also worn this jumpsuit with my 13" Cambridge Satchel, a bold ABH Modern Renaissance eye look, and a nude lipstick. My last styling rendition was with a pair of birkenstock sandals, a Marc by Marc Jacobs handbag, and Miu Miu sunglasses- it was a more casual look. Who knew jumpsuits were so versatile? and glamorous?!

So I bought a jumpsuit and I love it! I particularly am obsessed with this style of jumpsuit and the navy diamond print. Friends, do you have a jumpsuit or even jumpsuits?! Tell me about it, how do you style them?

    1. Haha I've heard that Tabitha I guess it depends on the jumpsuit. For me this jumpsuit zips on the side so its really to pop on and off. I guess I need to buy some more to understand the frustration haha

  20. You always manage to find such awesome second hand pieces that look so brand new! I really need to try and do the same, I know my wallet would thank me for it, lol. I think I get nervous that I'd get ripped off because one time, I tried to purchase something designer years ago on eBay and exactly that happened, though though that was a long time and I think they've improved in managing their designer section. Thanks for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have a great weekend ahead!

    1. Thanks girl, I try! Shopping second hand sometimes is such a rush for me, plus I hardly find anything in stores these days. Awh you should try again- eBay has buyer protection nowadays so you can start a claim if something is inauthentic, honestly though there aren't a lot of fakes on eBay these days. Especially Anthro haha. Hope you're having a great day!

    1. Thanks girl! I used to feel the same way but the gaucho looking jumpsuits are great for short girls, I'm 5'2 and sometimes I just wear this jumpsuit without wedges and just with birks. I think it still works!
