January Beauty Favorites

January 19, 2018

Hi friends! Halfway through January and 2018 is already moving way too quickly! I've been getting back into the school groove, re-watching way too much Gilmore Girls, working part-time, trying to get back into my daily walks, and working on the blog. Before January slips away I wanted to share some of my current beauty favorites!

I wanted this Clare V. for Sephora Collection: Agnes Clutch for what seems like forever now. Its such a cute bag. Im a sucker for anything French! I'd been looking for a new makeup bag but this bag might be better suited for just my makeup brushes or just a short weekend as I tend to be a makeup over-packer, but I think I could make it work. This makeup clutch can definitely double for a fun accessory. It was originally $28 and I got it on sale for $15!

I wouldn't consider myself a collector of anything except for books, but I have recently acquired quite a habit of collecting O.P.I polish. Last summer I decided I was going to call going to the nail salon quits as it had become rather an expensive regular habit. I decided to clean out my nail polish collection and start acquiring some new polishes from Marshalls/TJ Maxx. I am not usually one for purple nail polishes but O.P.I Feel the Chemis-Tree has made me have a change of heart. Its a beautiful purple that can be worn year round.
L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil has been doing wonders for my hair lately. Back in high school I would always buy drug store hair products, but these days I rarely ever do unless they come in a Sephora Play box. I've just become less adventurous in the haircare world. I received this product from Influenster and love it. Essentially its a oil serum which you can use several ways to transform dry, lifeless hair (aka my hair) to soft and lustrous. It has ingredients like argan oil, camellia oil, and sunflower oil. Initially I was slightly worried because I have fine, oily hair and adding oil to oily hair seemed like a bad idea. Surprisingly after one use I really did notice my hair feeling softer. So soft the next day I told my coworkers to feel my hair to make sure it wasn't just me. Overall, I like using this as a mask and then rinse it off before I shampoo. Or I use it alone as an oil after I wash my hair. It can also be used on day 2 hair when I need a little more luster in my hair.

Sinner Mini Lipstick & Fragrance Duo. If you know me you know how much I love Kat Von D's products. With the new release of Saint & Sinner I knew I had to have this rollerball and limited edition lipstick. Although "Sinner" as a ELL is not my favorite because of how hard it is to remove, the pigmentation is still great. Its such an edgy color with lots of sass. Sinner is a warm and spicy fragrance with notes of wood, patchouli, and cinnamon. I also got the Saint Mini Lipstick & Fragrance Duo for Christmas which I'm loving as well (thanks Liz and Abbey).

Kat Von D MetalMatte Mini Eyeshadow Palette Not pictured, but I felt like this has definitely been a beauty favorite. I bought this palette right after Christmas. I was on the fence about it since I wasn't really into the full MetalMatte palette, but I liked the shade range and the metal crush eyeshadows are 10/10. Although the first couple weeks with this palette were challenging because I've gotten surprisingly very uncreative at eyeshadow looks, but I watched a few YouTube videos and this one was especially helpful. I would definitely recommend this palette if you want a more moody palette to do looks with and if you're interested in the Metal Crush eyeshadows which are $21 a piece so for $39 getting 4  + 4 mattes is a pretty good price.
Well that's all the beauty favorites for now folks but come back next week for more scheduled beauty and style programming!

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. All opinions are always, always, always my own.
