An interesting fact about me is that surprisingly my favorite designer is not Chanel (a close second). It's actually Anna Sui! I've loved Anna's work for a very long time. She's created so many archetypes in her designs ranging from punk to Americana that make her work so multifaceted and interesting. I think that's why I love her work so much. You can dress mod or punk depending on the day when wearing Anna Sui! Also, she's collaborated with so many great brands like Hello Kitty, Barbie (She has her own collector Barbie doll which I still want tbh), Free People, Target, etc. I got this book for my birthday and its probably one of my favorite because it really delves into Anna's designs and archetypes.

A few summers ago when I was still in undergrad and interning for Anthropologie I helped with a window display where we showcased this dress.

I thought the dress was beautiful and very unique. I wasn't sure if it was exactly me as I don't own anything in orange nor do I think I ever have, but I always had it in the back of my mind. Thinking about it from time to time when I'd reminisce on my intern days there although I think the candles make me feel the most nostalgic.
Over Christmas I started looking for something new to wear to a wedding in June. I ended up finding this dress for $30 originally retailing for $168?! It ended up completely missing a strap (thus why it was so cheap), but my Mom got it for me as a Christmas present and ended up fixing it for me too (thanks Mom).

This dress just makes me happy! Its so fun to just twirl around in and is very comfortable! I think I'd add a necklace to this dress and change my lip color to something more bold, maybe a fuchsia!
I struggle finding the right shoes for this dress. I really am going for the full on Carrie Bradshaw look. I found a great J. Crew and Charlotte Olympia pair but they were just too pricey and I couldn't see myself wearing them with anything else. In terms of a handbag I found myself wearing this dress with my wicker bag but a clutch would work as well.
In terms of makeup here I played it pretty safe here. I'm wearing KVD's Shade + Light palette (an essential for anyone's makeup bag). Nevertheless, I did wear some NYX glitter brillants (pressed glitter & my new favorite thing) I found from Marshalls in a copper shade with this dress and I think that was a fun way of spicing it up.
Its sweltering here in Kansas City. Seems like one of the hottest summers we've had in while to be honest. I've been buzzing like a bee over here trying to finish my summer classes and take my weekly Marshalls pilgrimage. It has been challenging, but I'm really loving my new job and the people who I work with. I'll see y'all in July!

Wearing: Dress - Anthropologie (sold out but here's one I love), shoes - Something Blue by Betsey Johnson (sold out but similar), lips - NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cannes

I finally updated Jemappellechanel.com! Not gonna lie, it feels pretty good. It looks fresh, and well, I'm excited! I promised myself if I saved enough money from tips I would buy myself a fancy new blog layout for my birthday, so here it is! I saved $70 in tips, WHAAT! I hope y'all enjoy this blog update as much as I do ('=

I always see neat, "What's In My Bag" pictures, so I thought I would do my own. I've had this Betsey Johnson purse for quite sometime, and it never fails me. Usually I keep throwing stuff in it, and never look back. This was all the stuff in my purse today! I didn't add anything extra to make me look cooler, I probably should have because I look like a candy obsessed nerd, but this is what I had.

  • Union Jack Wallet
  • The Dorm Room Diet
  • Nail File
  • Lanyard/Coach ID holder
  • Starbucks "Single of the Week" card
  • E.L.F. Mineral Lipstick in Cheerful Cherry
  • Dollar bill coin pouch
  • Easter candy!
  • Haribo Happy Cola Candy
  • Perks of Being a Wallflower
  • Haribo Twin Cherries
  • Notepad
It is so important for me to always carry books. I'd rather be the girl who is reading a book while waiting for something than the one who is engrossed into her phone. All of the candy were gifts from my best friends parents for Easter.!
