In the midst of my two classes and my new internship I got to attend the Whole Foods KC Pre-Opening Party with my best friend Victoria. Its always such a blessing when my real world and my blogging world get to meet and I'm able to bring my friends to these events. The new Whole Foods is located right by UMKC at at 301 E 51st St. I will admit that I am an avid Whole Foods visitor. Although I don't really shop for groceries there (I don't have much time to shop for groceries at all anymore). I am constantly visiting Whole Foods to browse. This Whole Foods is huge (48,200 square-feet) with a Fountain Room, coffee bar (my personal fave is a iced matcha latte with vanilla syrup), and seafood bar. There also is a deli, unlike the other two Whole Foods locations (Olathe and South Overland Park). I didn't see any Amazon lockers which was surprising. I'll have to ask Alexa about it. Just the other day I picked up some handmade peppermint soap for $2 at Whole Foods! Top that Marshalls?!

Somewhere in between all the busyness these past couple months I feel like I've lost sight of the big picture. My goal for 2018 was to live a life of intentional gratitude. Trying to slow down when it feels like there are so little hours in the day has been challenging. I feel like overall I've never been more grateful, but trying to keep my mindset where my heart is with so many deadlines has been rough. However, life has a funny way of reminding us what our priorities are. Nevertheless I'm re-framing my narrative and trying to live out my goal. I've been meditating and talking to friends about the stress and anxiety of life which has definitely taken some of the pressure off. So if you've wondered why the blog has felt a little distant its because it has definitely been on the back burner. I'm on my last couple weeks of summer classes and feeling grateful to almost have completed 5 graduate classes. I'm not sure how to conclude this post but I'll be back to the blog soon, rejuvenated, and smiling as if all of those boxes of La Croix are mine. P.S. how cute are these photos of Victoria and I?!

Last spring when the Victoria Beckham for Target collection dropped I wanted this Blue Stripe Poplin Gathered Waist Dress, but I wasn't sure. I had never owned a piece of clothing with this unique type of sleeve and I had already ordered two pieces  rom the collection going on three. Which left me feeling undecided whether I needed a fourth piece from the collection especially when I own 0 stripes.

Stripe a Pose

Initially I had a hard time with the the one shoulder trend. There were so many variations of tops it was so overwhelming. Most tops had way too many ruffles for my taste or too long of a sleeve/sleeves to be practical for the Kansas heat. While I was browsing eBay's copious amount of J. Crew resale I stumbled on this blouse and for $17- new with tags it was hard to say no.
