Born to Run Collection Review

October 8, 2018

In August I got a mysterious shipping notification from UPS that a package was headed to me. Beknownst to me on my doorstep was the whole Born to Run collection sent to courtesy of Urban Decay. Of course I was in tears. I am so excited to share my thoughts on  all these products to try from a brand I have admired for a very long time! It feels like it has been ages since I've done a beauty review like this. Grab some cider or an iced coffee and take a seat!
Like I said back in August I was so lucky to get gifted the whole Born to Run collection from Urban Decay. This collection is inspired by travel! From road trips, staycations, weekend escapes, etc. Born to Run is made for wherever life takes you. I think that's a vision we can all get  behind, especially with eyeshadow palettes! I actually have taken this palette on the run to D.C. and back to KC of course. This collection comes with an eyeshadow palette, three lipsticks, three eyeliners, and the All Nighter setting spray.
The Born to Run eyeshadow palette is a 21-pan eyeshadow palette.

You can see that the sleek packaging is inspired by travel. The palette is super durable and great for travel. I was grateful that it wasn't a cardboard palette. It has a huge, sleek mirror.

The Born to Run palette has 21 shades. There are pinks, browns, bold colors, and a mix of traditional Urban Decay colors. I feel like the bottom right 8 colors in some capacity are true to Urban Decay's Ammo palette.

Overall these colors are super pigmented. I am in love with the left side of the palette. Using the shades minus the browns are more of a challenge for me to use but this palette is great for travel. I found that the metallic finish shades applied better with finger application and a lighter primer. For some reason the blue shades irritated my eyes and I'm scared to try it again. The Born to Run palette retails for $49 and you can buy it at Sephora and Ulta.

There are three new 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils in this collection. Lucky is a dark metallic copper, (middle), Double Life is a reddish brown metallic (top), and Overdrive (bottom) is a deep green metallic. It seems like the only new-new color not in the original 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil collection. I LOVE Overdrive. Its hard to do a subtle look but that's what I like about it. I have always adored these eyeliners. They are super creamy and pigmented. What has always amazed me is how long they last 24/7 is definitely accurate. Check out my Pinterest for some inspo.
For most makeup junkies the All Nighter Setting Spray is a holy grail product. It keeps my makeup locked and loaded. The packaging is so fun.
Marfa is a comfort matte. Its a dark berry with pink micro shimmer. It reminds me of Firebird from the Gwen Stefani collection but darker and richer. These shades make me really love Urban Decay. This seems like a great shade for an adventurous night out or to Marshalls as I'd have it
The Urban Decay 66 Vice Lipstick is a limited edition lipstick. Its a rich, medium mauve. This is a comfort matte. Its a bit light on me but the color is fun. I think it'll work for the winter days.
The Urban Decay Vice  Lipstick Ready? is a bright rose sparkle metallic lipstick. I do like this shade although it takes a few applications to get the right level of pigmentation. This seems like a great shade for a no makeup look or for someone who isn't super into makeup.
Swatched from top to bottom Marfa66, and Ready?. My favorite is definitely Marfa! So beautiful.
Overall this collection was pretty impressive and so beautiful. I think every piece from this collection would be great for any beauty enthusiast. I would definitely recommend this palette and any of the eyeliners/lipsticks as a gift for the holiday season.

What do you think? Would you take this palette on a getaway, if not what would you take instead?

I received these products courtesy of Urban Decay. All opinions are always my own.

  13. I still have the ammo palette, can you believe it?! Also, another one that was released around the same time, they're just been sitting there but I recently wore the shimmer shades and they were so good! I do like the mix of shades in this palette, and I've heard great things about their 24/7 eyeliners x
