Dressing like my Bitmoji

September 2, 2020

Back in 2016 Bitmoji dropped a collection with Bergdorf Goodman and W Magazine. You could dress your Bitmoji in designers like Alexander McQueen, Marc Jacobs, and DVF. Coincidentally, that's where I first ran into this dress. My Bitmoji wore it first, hah!
I was a little worried that this dress which has brought me so much joy in animated form would not be the real deal IRL. However, I was so pleasantly surprised that this dress was even more gorgeous in real life. The polka dots are so fun and bright. Plus, it came with this beautiful buttery purple leather belt. I'm so glad I got this dress, it was a great birthday present for myself even though it was spent inside.
While my Bitmoji may have brought me to this dress I'm grateful that it did because it makes me so happy! Unfortunately, Bitmoji changes out their clothing catalog rather frequently so this collection is not available anymore (I haven't changed my outfit in years). I hope someday they let Bitmoji's wear clothing off the runway again! Maybe with this Ralph Lauren and Chance the Rapper partnership something could potentially happen?
Also, can we have a moment for this beautiful Gucci bag? I just love these stinking Marmont bags! In my dream world I would own all the sizes.
I have wanted to check out Three Bees Coffee and Pottery shop in Kansas City for a hot minute. It's so cute! They sell coffee, tamales, and pottery. I had a delightful iced mocha and a biscotti. I just can't get over how cute this shop is. KC friends, this is definitely worth stopping by.
I relish days like these where I can dress up even if its for a quick coffee.
The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck stopped by Kansas City for the first time in 3 years a few weeks ago. I had to go see it in person since I missed it last time. I didn't end up buying anything sadly. The macaron box sold out which I didn't need but I'm such a sucker for macarons.
I get to see my best friend for the first time in a long time this weekend and I'm so excited. Summer is winding down here in KC and I feel both happy and sad to see it go. Recently I read this article from the NYT about email communication during the pandemic. Specifically, how greetings in emails have started to feel forced and tone-deaf sometimes. It made me start thinking about how I conduct myself via email and also how I conclude my blog posts considering I have readers in so many different places. So I will say this, I hope wherever you are you are able to find light and comfort in parts of your day. Talk soon.
