November is my least favorite month but also one of my favorite month's because of Diwali. The festival of lights. A time to celebrate the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness. Spring has finally sprung in KC! I keep finding myself distracted by all the beautiful blooms and every single lilac bush I encounter. Its been a minute since I’ve written a spring favorites post, so I thought I’d write one while I’m feeling inspired this week.

Spring has finally sprung in KC! I keep finding myself distracted by all the beautiful blooms and every single lilac bush I encounter. Its been a minute since I’ve written a spring favorites post, so I thought I’d write one while I’m feeling inspired this week.
Usually I blog more when life slows down, but I haven't had much time to shoot and have been enjoying an extended brainstorm session (or a serious case of writer's block). I'm shooting some new content early next month and I'm excited to get back into the swing of school, work, and JMC. Life moves so quickly lately I think I just needed an extended period of time to recharge, especially after my brutal stats class.
Now that I'm on my last week of break I am feeling ready for this next class (as I brace myself slightly). So in case you've wondered where I've been, I'm still here. Just enjoying living life in the present.

Catching Up

Usually I blog more when life slows down, but I haven't had much time to shoot and have been enjoying an extended brainstorm session (or a serious case of writer's block). I'm shooting some new content early next month and I'm excited to get back into the swing of school, work, and JMC. Life moves so quickly lately I think I just needed an extended period of time to recharge, especially after my brutal stats class.
Now that I'm on my last week of break I am feeling ready for this next class (as I brace myself slightly). So in case you've wondered where I've been, I'm still here. Just enjoying living life in the present.

I've been obsessing over so many things lately and had to share my finds. I'm excited about April and pretty passionate about my current favorites.
Hello February! Hello friends! Despite this often cold, brutal Kansas weather I'm enjoying it strangely enough. I've been depending on vanilla lattes, lots of layers, Nancy Drew, and Lorelai Gilmore's mindset on "wonderful snow" to get me through this cold February.
I have a few February favorites to share featuring the phenomenal photography of Emma York Photography as our collaboration continues. Check out our first post in our creative collaboration, here and follow Emma on Instagram here.
Vintage Boyfriend Sweater
I cannot get enough of this sweater, truly. Liz bought it for me for $1 from a university clothing sale and although we cheated the dollar grab bags by peeking in most of them, oops, I'm so glad we did. I love everything about this little cropped sweater. The knit, the color, and most of all the story behind it and the lady who bought it for me. Although mine isn't exactly American Eagle's vintage boyfriend sweater it resembles it pretty closely. There are similar sweaters that resemble mine from American Eagle on Poshmark!
Alphabet Earrings
I found these earrings at H&M and initially was hesitant as I typically don't wear earrings (the last time I wore a pair was my senior prom April 2013). However I loved the aesthetic of these earrings. The gold, the choices, and the price wasn't bad either. I love choosing my initials for the day "SK", or if I'm not having it, I wear "NO".
Navy Wide Brimmed Hat
My aunt Indira bought me this hat from Forever 21 a couple summers ago but it still gets plenty of use during February. The navy color is a bit unusual which is one of the reasons I love it so much. Plus the hats wide brim protects me from the snow! Fun fact: I like to approach my hats by the theory, "Would Indiana Jones wear this?"
Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in Rhubarb
I'm really loving this pigment pencil. This pencil was in my November Sephora Play box. This color is a really sweet and natural shade on me. I tend to wear really dramatic lip colors and this color feels more refined. It's a plum rose but I consider it more of a soft berry nevertheless a very universal shade for all skin tones. I highly suggest this pencil or at least trying a mini if you have extra Beauty Insider points to spend at Sephora.
I'm also loving Nate Berkus (for Target) office supplies, the 1975's song UGH, and the fact that SUITS SEASON 5 IS BACK. What are some of your current loves?

If you ever wonder what I am doing during my long durations of disappearance here you go!Reading: I just finished Rainbow Rowell's Eleanor and Park. I loved almost every single moment of it, and felt just about every emotion while reading this. I don't wanna ruin anything for you, but if you're looking for something new to read, well this is it! I also have been reading David Levithan's the Lover's Dictionary. It is a compilation of stories and words all describing the crazy aspects of love.
Listening to: Oh my goodness, I cannot stop listening to Iggy Azalea's the New Classic. Let me tell you, it is classic. I can't stop humming little bits from each song! My favourite tracks have to be: Don't Need Y'all, 100 feat. Watch The Duck, Impossible is Nothing, and Black Widow feat. Rita Ora
Watching: Devious Maids. While most of my favourite shows (cough, Suits) are on break until summer I finally got around to watching Devious Maids. Turns out the drama and the cast drive me crazy, in the best way possible! The second season just started and I am beyond ecstatic.
Coveting: I have really started admiring the birkenstock trend. The only problem is the only ones I want are specifically $255 Rachel Zoe's Fawn Two Band Sandals. What differentiates them from other birkenstocks is the metallic foil that covers the natural cork. Ultimately, the metallic foil draws me to these birkenstocks compared to others.

Well I will be done with my first year at university in just about three weeks! JMC has some exciting collaborations coming up too and I will finally be reunited with Katie from Katherine Campbell Photography. Speaking of, go check out her portfolio thus far. Katie and I are planning on doing one shoot a week, and I'd like to start "Life-talks with Katie" where we cover a new topic for a life-talk every shoot!

If you ever wonder what I am doing during my long durations of disappearance here you go!Reading: I just finished Rainbow Rowell's Eleanor and Park. I loved almost every single moment of it, and felt just about every emotion while reading this. I don't wanna ruin anything for you, but if you're looking for something new to read, well this is it!
