I recently encountered the enamoring Emma York from Emma York Photography and we joined forces to start a creative collaboration that I am so beyond excited about. Emma is the sweetest little thing with such a fascinating story on how she became a photographer, read about it here!
I've had this leather jacket since my senior year of high school (2012). I got it from Nasty Gal and I specifically remembering ordering it in my grandparents basement in Queens. I'd say its been a pretty good purchase because I wear it almost everyday. My sweater came from a $1 bin from a clothing sale at my university that Liz bought me. My jeans are a pair from J-Crew my Dad bought for me last Christmas while I was on a quest for the "ultimate coated jeans." My chelsea's are my utmost favorite pair I got on sale at Target two Thanksgivings ago. I wish I'd bought another pair.
This beautiful scarf is from my sweet boyfriend's sweet Mom, Carol. She got it for me during her time in Paris and I wear it constantly. Monet's water lily paintings are some of my favorite pieces of art. Carol knows me too well, such a thoughtful gift from Foulards Cravates. I initially was hesitant about how I could incorporate this scarf into my wardrobe but it fit in seamlessly. Plus I feel like a Wes Anderson character when I wear it. Thank you Carol, love you♡
Emma suggested I try different ways of wearing this silk scarf so I decided on three ways.

Last week I was on vacation with my family in New York! My time with the city that doesn't sleep was short, (we spent only a week we usually spend 2) but it was packed with so much. My family and I spent some time in the Poconos, went on a waterfall trail, did some superb shopping, went bowling, went to a casino, and I even had time to do some fat henna! (See below) I told you, we did a lot! I'm really thankful that we decided to go back home this year =') I hope all of you got to take some time off for vacation!
I can't believe that this is going to be the last of my summer shoots with my dear friend Katie. Katie goes to the University of Michigan where she kicks major ass as a Style Guru for College Fashionista. It breaks my heart that I won't be seeing her til' Christmas time. ='( Absence truly does make the heart grow fonder though!
While shopping in New York I found this beautiful cream skirt at Forever 21 and couldn't believe my eyes. The intricacy and quality of the skirt was incredible. It looked like something out of a Free People catalog instead of Forever 21. Although I have something similar to this skirt I felt like it would be wearable throughout the seasons. Plus it was just too beautiful. I paired it with a simpler tank (stolen from my mothers closet), and to get the fall vibes going tied a flannel around my waist for a little bit of a twist. I think that this skirt can easily be worn up or down depending on whether you want to showcase it or not. My birkenstocks have been doing some major work this summer I'm sad to have to put them away. Lastly, my nails are my one last hoorah for summer, I'm wearing I Just Can't CopeA-Cabana by OPI. My favourite Katherine ever, took these spectacular shots of me in a tree. I wish you guys could've been with us! I fought off ants and Spiderman scary spiders! The ones where I have only one shoe on are probably due to me invading a poor ant populations home. In other news, summer is going by way too quickly! I'm not emotionally ready for July to be over! I have been buying too much black furniture from IKEA for my apartment, and Candidly Nicole on VH1 has become my new favourite show (after Suits of course.)

As long as I can remember jeans have been a second skin to me.
Even in the sweltering hot Kansas City summers I can't help but want to wear jeans, like all the time. Denim just feels so great to me, but sometimes I feel that skinny jeans are too casual and confining. I've been looking into other pants to try and I came across these Brandy Melville Susannah Harlem Pants. Though I really wish I was taller they are immensely comfortable and give me a loose look and vibe that I yearned for. I am excited to see how I can transition them into the fall ^_^
