skirt

I still remember the first time I shopped on eBay. I was sitting in our kitchen trying to solve the mystery of how to get my hair to look like the Avril Lavigne poster I had in my room without bleach and without getting grounded. I remember finding a seller that sold the same color hair extensions I had been looking for and before I knew it, I had the same shade of hair extensions in my shopping cart. A few weeks passed and I was rocking an Avril inspired outfit with my new extensions. Who would've known that eleven years later I would still be shopping religiously on eBay.

Greetings beautiful people! Did you know that I only own two skirts? A simple, black H&M pencil skirt I used to wear for debate tournaments in high school that I can't let go, and now this berry dream with blackberries and raspberries! I actually spotted it a few seasons ago from J. Crew and wanted it so badly. However, it was $98 and 100% polyester so my instant thought was- NO WAY. I decided to wait until I could find it cheaper.

After stalking Poshmark for this skirt for what felt like eternity I finally found this gem brand new for $25! A much more reasonable price! I actually have a matching scarf from this collection (you might remember this post).
I love that this skirt can be worn with any t-shirt. I chose a grey-ish/white t-shirt, which in reality is actually more white, but photographs more grey. I'd wear this skirt with navy, black, or white. I think it could also be paired with a plain silk or linen sleeveless blouse. I also would try the double print trend once I find this blouse in the matching print. Just wait for it!

I have been busy as a bee with blogger events and I just went on a road trip to Omaha. It has been such a blessing not to stress about school for a change.

Any time I can bring this purse out I'm a happy camper.

Post summer classes and I'm finding a new found joy for summer.
Here are some of the things that are making me happy right now
•Crazy Rich Asians (Cannot.wait.for.the.movie)
•Queen of the South's Third Season
•Nespresso's Shakerato Capsules (life changing)
•Yankee Candle's Lovely Lilac Candle
•O.P.I Pink Ladies Rule the School
•All Audrey Hepburn movies
•Real Housewives of New York/OC + Shah's of Sunset returning
•Queer Eye filming their third season in KC!
•Having time to take walks again. I've walked 17.4 miles this week already.
•Vogue's 73 Questions. I love the interview with Donatella, VB, and Aziz Ansari's the most.
•Jams I'm loving: Beck's album Colors, John Mayer's New Light, and the Knocks Ride or Die feat. Foster the People.

Since I went on vacation last week I didn't get a chance to celebrate JMC's 6th birthday. I don't think I'm going to do a 6 year anniversary post, but I wanted to convey my thanks and gratitude to my readers, friends, family, and followers. I never would've dreamed that JMC would still be my place of escape 5 years later. I also never dreamed of making so many friends from this journey + being able to partner with so many incredible brands. I have a lot of reflecting to do about where I see JMC headed in the next year (no big changes most likely edits), but I just want to say thank you for being here. I am so damn grateful.

I hope everyone is staying cool and drinking large iced caramel macchiatos while enjoying their summer days. It feels like it was May and then I blinked and August was here. How time flies!
Wearing: Shirt - H&M, skirt - J. Crew (old, but similar), shoes - Harajuku Lovers (old but similar, here), lipstick - Kylie Lip Kit in Mary Jo K, purse - vintage (similar)
