YSL Touche Eclat Voxbox

July 28, 2015

I've been an Influenster since my freshman year of university, and I've got to say this YSL Voxbox is definitely my fave. How could I say no to such luxurious packaging and products? (Although I really enjoyed the P&G Voxbox where I got Tide Pods that made my clothes smell like rain). I was so excited to finally see this package on my doorstep!

Fort those of you who don't know Influenster is an awesome community of people that test and review products with their net reach- however you don't necessarily need a net reach to qualify for voxboxes. I've been really lucky to have been apart of several campaigns!

Included in this Voxbox was YSL's Touche Eclat Blur Primer ($52 for 1 oz.) and Blur Perfector ($55).

I have normal skin that is acne prone at times so I hardly ever put primer on before I apply foundation or makeup in general. I also don't particularly care for the way primer feels upon application. Nevertheless I've bought primers before, but it wasn't until I tried Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer that I was actually seeing results. Now if any of you use Hourglass primer, you're probably curious, is this comparable? Well? The ingredients in YSL's Primer are a bit different than the ingredients in the Veil Primer so that might be one of the reasons why. There are quite a bit of oils in the Blur Primer but there are some similar main ingredients.

Nonetheless, the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer is a really beautiful primer. It applies easily, and has a nice brush to help smooth the product out evenly. I also think it makes your pores look smaller and less defined. It helped even my skin out and made my makeup appear smoother. Although I don't like it as much as I liked the Veil Mineral Primer its still great.

I had a harder time understanding and using the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Perfector. It goes from a gel to a powder instantly to blur imperfections (such as wrinkles). The compact is gorgeous, and its very slim so you can take it on the go. Many have said this product helps create a glow to your complexion but I don't quite feel like it does that much for me. It's also a one-shade-fits-all kind of product.

I don't like the spongey white applicator it comes with, (seen in the fourth picture) which is my first problem. You are supposed to use the applicator to set your makeup or to use it alone on your face. Yet, I  really just wish this product would've included a brush instead, sigh. C'est la vie. Lately, I've been using Sonia Kashuk's Duo Fiber Buffing Brush from her 15th Anniversary Limited Edition 15 Piece Professional Brush Set to use this product.

Overall, I liked both products preferring the primer over the blur perfector. I'm sure as I play around with the blur perfector I might like it more. I'll leave an update if my thoughts change.!

Leave your e-mail below if you'd like an invite from me to be an Influenster and qualify for future Voxbox campaigns!

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. All opinions are my own.
