January Beauty Favorites

January 28, 2017

Right before I finished off my final exams last semester I splurged and did some damage at Sephora. Although I did the majority of my spending on friends I picked out a few deluxe samples as my splurge and treated myself to some new items. Let's review!

BVLGARI Eau Parfumée collection deluxe sample set
I was so excited to add this promo set to my Sephora cart since it was apart of the 25 days of minis. I have only recently become a fan of BVLGARI fragrances. I swear whenever I wear my Omnia Crystalline someone always comments on it. However these scents were quite the contrary being super light and airy. I do think this set is quite fascinating because the scents all have tea based notes. Green tea, white tea, blue tea, and red tea. They are also unisex.

BVLGARI Eau Parfumée Au Thé Bleu
This perfume consists of blue tea. This fragrance has notes of lavender, iris, musk, and shiso. Its a very fresh and airy perfume. Overall it has a light scent and lavender is the most predominant note.

This is a soothing scent with notes of artemisia leaves, ambrette, white pepper, white tea, musk, and woody amber. This is a delicate and floral perfume. The notes are lavender, shiso leaves, violet, and iris. This was a very faint scent, and I could definitely see my other half wearing it.

The notes are pink peppercorns, orange, bergamot, red tea, and musk. The style of this scent is voluptuous and vital. This scent has very strong notes of orange and bergamot. Its a musky and citrus scent. I loved the red packaging of this perfume.

This scent is citrus and based on green tea leaves. Its notes are orange blossom, butter orange, cardamom, jasmine, green tea, and rose. Overall this fragrance is delicate. This scent was my favorite. It had a very cologne kind of scent but still was pretty and versatile.
I couldn't help but add this collection into my cart because the packaging is so cute and I am a huge fan of Ciaté's nail products. This set was originally $22 but I got it on sale for $15. A pretty good deal in my opinion since these full size lipsticks are $19. I don't go through liquid lipstick quickly at all so this seemed like a good deal. Unfortunately its sold out online but I've seen this set in stores by the register!

Starlet is a beautiful red. However, I would suggest if you own Stila's Beso (24/7 Stay All Day) or something similar you don't need this liquid lip. The colors are super similar.

Wonderland is a dusty nude rose. This color is a bit too light on me. =/

Pin Up is a flattering berry. I think everyone needs this shade in their life honestly.
I had heard of Prada Candy Kiss but I couldn't say no to trying this sample. Prada Candy Kiss is a bit different from my ultimate favorite perfume (Prada Candy). Prada Candy Kiss is composed of musks, orange blosson, and suave vanilla. Prada Candy Kiss is a lot lighter of a fragrance. It has a Marc Jacobs or Stella McCartney essence in addition to the original Prada Candy aroma. I love the sweetness of Prada Candy so this fragrance is certainly not its predecessor. If PC is too sweet for you and you're a MJ fan PCK might be a nice change for you.

Yves Saint Laurent Mon Paris
As I've mentioned before I love this delightful scent. Its such a sweet and unique scent. However I still don't think its very long lasting. I adore this perfume. I've tried 3 mini samples of it now and its such a beautiful scent. Specifically, a fruity-floral fragrance with notes of bergamot, pear, raspberry, strawberry, jasmine, citrus blossom, musk, and white datura. It's a sophisticated and passionate perfume. I don't feel like it lasts very long but it does stick to you.
This set is literally my favorite thing right now. I had seen it at Sephora for $30 originally and had wanted it so desperately. KVD mini lipsticks last so long for me and the colors were the boldest and most beloved. When I finally made up my mind to buy this set online it had sold out. Consequently I was looking through Marshalls' tagged pictures on Instagram and I saw that someone got this set for $9.99. I decided I must find this set at my Marshalls. I had scoured the store, and was ready to give up until my dear friend Victoria eventually found it. I'm so excited to have this set in my possession. I don't buy nail polish very often so I'm excited to add these three mini shades into my collection!

Lovecraft is a beautiful mauve, rose, pink. On me (a true medium skin tone girl) this color is very natural. This lipstick isn't super creamy but applies well. I did love this polish. Its such a beautiful muted, rosy pink, and its a warm but soft color. Im gonna be sad when I run out of this mini.

Bauhau5 is a beautiful raspberry color. Its bright and medium/deep raspberry pink. This lipstick at full size retails for $21 but the minis last a long time for me!

Homegirl
This is a true blackberry all around. I think this is a unique color not quite black or berry. This mini applies pretty patchy so I would suggest exfoliating first. That's my only complaint about this color.

Since I finished my last semester I got a few new things I haven't got a chance to photograph like Urban Decay's Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup and Wet n Wild's Mega Cushion Highlight in Who's That Pearl. I'm also considering getting back into the Clarisonic life and buying a new head for my Mia 1, any thoughts?

What have you added into your beauty bag lately?

  11. Wow! Total splurge. I picked out three items that were things I use everyday and ended up spending $90. Going to Sephora is kind of like going to Target, except much more expensive. You tell yourself you're going to buy one thing and then walk out with five.

    1. Haha that made me smile Yasmin. Amen. I try to only buy one thing at a time at Sephora to pace myself. Or when it gets to the point where I'm desperate. I stay away from online because I try to fill up to $50 >.<
