Summer Goodbyes

September 20, 2017

Hi friends! It's been a minute hasn't it? With grad school and work I haven't had much time to blog or shop, but I'm back and saying one last goodbye to summer. *Cue the Golden Girls theme song*

Truth be told I haven't been shopping much lately. A dress here, lots of shoe browsing/a pair of shoes there, lots of pining over my wish list on Poshmark/eBay watch list, but with this transition of summer ending not a whole lot has really spoken to me. However,  I have been spending way too much time at Marshalls lately (how can you not?!).

I saw this shirt in a larger size and fell in love, but had to give it up because it didn't fit. I went back to browse and found it in the right size! It was pretty incredible considering I never thought I'd find it in the store again. They also have this blouse in a few other colors mustard yellow, and a plum!

I honestly don't own anything yellow in my closet and my last post wearing yellow was almost 3 years ago. So I hope this piece sparks some yellow purchases for the future. The sleeves are so fun! I do wish the top was a tad bit more fitting, but I digress.

I love this yellow with a lighter denim, it really makes the color pop! Plus another reason to pull out my Burberry espadrilles! I can't believe next month I'll be putting these babies away =(

I'm obsessed with these sunglasses. They have such a J-Lo in Maid in Manhattan vibe. They're truly a pair I've never seen before and I love that they are basically rimless, how innovative?!

I can't believe summer is coming to an end and I've already indulged in plenty of pumpkin spice chais. Looking back this summer was hard on me. I graduated, got a job, moved back to OP, threw a grad party, worked 2 jobs, and didn't get much time to breathe at all. The anxiety and stress I had from all of those things moved into me, and trickled into some of my dearest relationships. Fortunately, I took some time to myself to work through life, stress, and its busyness. I went on a road trip to Dallas with my friend Steph and spent a lot of quality time with my loved ones.

As summer comes to a close I look back and am grateful for the challenges. This summer has taught me to cherish my loved ones, and add some spontaneity into life. Go see Muse on a Tuesday night with your friend you met in business stats! Go on a road trip with your best friend! Let life show you the way if needed.

I hope everyone's fall is off to a beautiful start.

  1. This color palette is the perfect way to send off summer! Loving the flare sleeves of your top. I can't believe fall is already approaching, but I'm so ready for some sweater weather! I definitely need to start doing more shopping too.

  14. Yellow is one of those colours that transitions into cooler weather beautifully, it's a nice pop with neutral layers, so you're sure to get a lot more wear from this top! I love the fun flared sleeves and it looks great with your jeans.

Sorry you've had such a busy summer but great that you've found some time to just enjoy it and you're feeling re-energised now! :)

Hope you are having a great start to your weekend :)
