New Year New Glow

January 4, 2018

I think 2017 for me could be declared as the year of highlighters (in addition to other things like the world exploding from being so polarized), moving on! I've tried so many highlighters this year and to be honest there wasn't one that I really disliked. So when Influenster let me try Physicians Formula Butter Highlighter I was all game. Bring on the highlighters!
The Butter Highlighter ($10.95 for .22 oz.) is a cream to powder formula that claims one-swipe can create a smooth skin texture that brightens up your skin tone. The Butter Highlighter comes in 4 shades pearl, champagne, rose gold, and pink. The rose gold shade is beautiful, a very metallic rose gold.

Nothing super spectacular about the packaging. I love the Butter line by Physicians Formula. I've heard such good things and have always wanted the Butter bronzer, if I ever finish my Sonia Kashuk bronzer!

What I've always loved about Physicians Formula is that they have very blend-able formulas especialy all of their cream to powder formula. Some of Physicians Formulas products have accentuated my pores and problem areas however I didn't notice anything in particular while using this highlighter on my skin.

In terms of application I first would like to say I wear highlighters regularly and I usually prefer a bolder look. I do think that this highlighter is great for makeup enthusiasts of all levels. If you are just diving into the highlighter life this highlighter can give a really subtle look or if you're a long time highlighter user it can create a really bold, beautiful look. It just depends on what you prefer.

I personally use the Real Techniques Bold Metals Bold Metals tapered brush to highlight.

Although I am reviewing this highlighter, here are some highlighters I also recommend! They all do different things, but create a beautiful glow. I don't own the Josie Maran Argan Enlighment Illuminizer, but it has been on Sephora wishlist for years.

A big thanks to Physicians Formula and Influenster. I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. All opinions are my own.

  5. While I don't use highlighters (I barely wear any makeup!) I love the colour of this, I think a little shimmer would be fun but I am sure to get it wrong haha.

Hope that you are having a nice start to your week :) We finally got some cooler weather after our weekend heatwave, so I've been enjoying that!
