KC is BLOOMING

September 4, 2018

One of my favorite quotes is from the artist Monet, "I must have flowers, always, and always." Back in mid June I heard about this awesome idea of blooms on wheels in Kansas City called KC Bloom Co.
Many of you know how much I love flowers. Growing up I was always surrounded by flowers. My Mom always had flowers growing in our garden. I get nostalgic thinking about a delphinium I used to check on a daily basis, it was like my pet. KC Bloom Co is such a cool way to make buying flowers fun, accessible, and convenient while bringing them to you in an adorable VW Vanagon called Westy. I stopped out at one of their events to make my own mini bouquet!
I made my own little bouquet out of roses, carnations, salal leaves, and alstroemeria. I'm gonna be honest it has been awhile since I have done floral arrangements. Last summer I had a lot more time to do them and this year when all of our tigerlillies were in bloom I just had to admire them from afar and skip any arrangements. However I think going out to Westy to make an arrangement for myself would be a good form of self-care and a way to support local business.
I loved the colors of this bouquet! So warm and pretty.
You might remember this Anthropologie jumpsuit from this post. I have been wearing the hell out of it! I actually got this jumpsuit from eBay for $24! I normally wear this jumpsuit with birkenstocks which have been a  huge pain to break in btw.  There is quite a few jumpsuits at Anthro right now that are a little bit simpler than this one and that I'd suggest if you're slowly grooving into jumpsuits like me.
KC Bloom Co has their own event schedule on their website/Instagram.
Hope everyone's September is off to a good start. I am busy as a bee with work and school. I'm never too busy for a pumpkin chai though! My weakness. I am looking forward to fall and a transition from this heat.

Today's post was created in collaboration with Wiki Buy. As always, all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that make this blog possible!

A huge round of applause to my friend Mallory for helping me bring this post to you all!

  16. What a beautiful and innovative idea! I would love to customize my own bouquet; I love flowers, too, though unlike you, that wasn't always the case. My mom has always been a lover of plants and flowers and I used to actually get annoyed, haha. She used to want to take the more scenic route whenever there was an option to admire the flowers. Fast forward a decade later and I'm the same way! I love them and I'm teaching Aviah at an early age to appreciate their beauty. Thanks for sharing this, I hope this concept will migrate to Connecticut!
