Life seems to be moving fast again. Between bridal showers, birthdays, weddings, work events, etm. It feels like there's more of a reason to get dressed again. I've been feeling the urge to revamp my wardrobe too. An odd feeling considering its something I haven't thought critically about in a little over two years.

If you're unfamiliar with the concept a project pan is basically where you take a bunch of your beauty products and try to hit the literal pan of the product or use them up completely. This summer has been so different than the last. In mid-May the CDC lifted the mask mandate for fully vaccinated people. Life seemed to be opening up again. I was consistently going into the office and painting the town red with friends. I started to think about life a little further out and started embracing my style and body again.

Back in 2016 Bitmoji dropped a collection with Bergdorf Goodman and W Magazine. You could dress your Bitmoji in designers like Alexander McQueen, Marc Jacobs, and DVF. Coincidentally, that's where I first ran into this dress. My Bitmoji wore it first, hah!

I started JMC as a fashion blog eight years ago, but for the past few years I have been buying less and less clothes. I've shopped mainly secondhand and I have invested more into pieces I love to wear again and again. I'm Lizzie McGuire, outfit repeater and proud. Clothing is such an important part of our self expression. Rachel Zoe said, "Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak". While clothing brings us so much joy (and trust me I know the joy) it also causes environmental devastation and social inequality. This is a crisis, folks. Clothing is the fastest growing category of waste in US landfills.

Last October I wrote a post called Seeing Red where I realized that besides black, red is also my power color. It makes me feel strong, and motivated. Since then I have bought a handful of solid red dresses for several occasions from casual to formal. Truth be told red is universally flattering on all skin tones and can be worn all year long from the holiday season to summer.

Whenever I wear this dress I always think of Michael Jackson's Wanna Be Startin' Something where he sings, "You're a vegetable, you're a vegetableee" Silly, I know but I just get such a kick out of this dress.

I first saw this dress on ModCloth ages ago but to my dismay they discontinued the style. Over the summer ModCloth brought it back for $120, wayyyyy over my dress budget. As fate would have it, I ended up finding the dress on eBay for half of Modcloth's price. Still expensive, but an eBay seller accepted my final offer and this dress was finally happily in my closet.

I love everything about this dress. The vegetables are so colorful and it just makes me so happy. Who doesn't love vegetables?! Its definitely a spring/summer dress, but can work into fall with a leather jacket. It could definitely work with tights/ankle boots too. I try not to get too busy with the dress since it clearly speaks for itself, but could get crazy with fun feather earrings to go along with it.

Mallory and I basically recreated the beginning of Cabin in the Woods searching for this art installation by Eboni Patterson for Open Spaces (A KC arts experience).

This blue swimming pool is filled with flowers, candles, and teddy bears. Its truly a sight to be seen. Open Spaces ends on October 28 so make sure you make it out to Swope Park.

Back to outfit details, I bought these SJP Doris D'orsay pumps for my birthday and they are so cute! This is the first time I've broken them out on the blog despite getting them in April.

I have been on the hunt for a new purse with a rather vintage/modern style. I found this clutch from the Balmain x H&M collection which I completely missed back in 2015 because I fell asleep... I love the red suede and gold handle. This purse goes with everything. I have been really craving a new luxury bag and this purse is enough to subside my purse lust.

I feel like it has been a bit since I've posted an outfit on the blog. Good news! I've been shooting a lot of content these past couple of weeks and I'm so excited to share it with you!

Aside from the blog life, work and grad school keep me busy, but I am managing it much better than I did in the summer. I finished international business and am now taking a stats class. I am learning how to balance my work, school, and personal life a lot better these days finding time to catch a movie, see my friends, and volunteer. I'm grateful to learn how to manage my schedule earlier in life although at times in can be frustrating.

I feel like I keep blinking and the months are changing I can't believe November will be here in just a mere week and gingerbread lattes soon! I have held October dearly in my heart friends. I hope you have too.

Many KC-itians are familiar with Baldwin! Our hometown brand that has been changing the denim game. I had been looking for the perfect Baldwin piece to add to my collection and I think I found it. The Kendall. This long denim maxi skirt made specifically for Kendall Jenner from Anna Wintour. When I first saw this skirt I wasn't sure how to feel about it. Of course there is very little that KJ can't pull off. However, I have nightmares about wearing denim skirts from middle school and I think embarrassingly once or twice in high school. Since I started my internship I realized that wearing heels at the office is the easiest way to make me exhausted. So I thought long and hard what my options could be. A) Buy a temporary pair of shoes off eBay to wear through the summer (not actually tackling the problem of finding a comfortable pair of shoes for the office that work for me IRL) or B) Buying something comfortable, versatile, and higher-end that would be considered expensive overall, but the style will endure.

Kylie Jenner has really garnered a serious following of customers with these products. So much that Kylie Cosmetics has an estimated net worth of $368 million and Kylie was just on the cover of Forbes.
