I finally made a visit to my favorite hair salon Paisley & Stripe for a much needed haircut. Alex shaped up my hair and we added a "lob" sort of aspect to my mane, although the 100 degree Kansas heat makes it a little hard to notice. On another note, I'm really sad to see this summer coming to an end. Nevertheless, I'm very excited for the fall, school year, and the rest 2015 has to offer. As summer is closing and I've finished my online class, I'm hustling to reread all the classic Nancy Drew books I didn't read when I was a teen. I've read 45/64 thus far! Ever since I was little I always wanted to be Nancy Drew, and as I reread them I yearn to be her even more. To me, Nancy Drew is truly the ultimate, "It girl." Lets see if I can finish the series on my Starbucks breaks, my cruise to Puerto Rico, and before I head back to uni.
I hope the rest of your summer is filled with lots of smiles & laughs, lemonade, long life talks, and huge iced coffees!

Last week I was on vacation with my family in New York! My time with the city that doesn't sleep was short, (we spent only a week we usually spend 2) but it was packed with so much. My family and I spent some time in the Poconos, went on a waterfall trail, did some superb shopping, went bowling, went to a casino, and I even had time to do some fat henna! (See below) I told you, we did a lot! I'm really thankful that we decided to go back home this year =') I hope all of you got to take some time off for vacation!
I can't believe that this is going to be the last of my summer shoots with my dear friend Katie. Katie goes to the University of Michigan where she kicks major ass as a Style Guru for College Fashionista. It breaks my heart that I won't be seeing her til' Christmas time. ='( Absence truly does make the heart grow fonder though!
While shopping in New York I found this beautiful cream skirt at Forever 21 and couldn't believe my eyes. The intricacy and quality of the skirt was incredible. It looked like something out of a Free People catalog instead of Forever 21. Although I have something similar to this skirt I felt like it would be wearable throughout the seasons. Plus it was just too beautiful. I paired it with a simpler tank (stolen from my mothers closet), and to get the fall vibes going tied a flannel around my waist for a little bit of a twist. I think that this skirt can easily be worn up or down depending on whether you want to showcase it or not. My birkenstocks have been doing some major work this summer I'm sad to have to put them away. Lastly, my nails are my one last hoorah for summer, I'm wearing I Just Can't CopeA-Cabana by OPI. The ones where I have only one shoe on are probably due to me invading a poor ant populations home. In other news, summer is going by way too quickly! I'm not emotionally ready for July to be over! I have been buying too much black furniture from IKEA for my apartment, and Candidly Nicole on VH1 has become my new favourite show (after Suits of course.)

As long as I can remember jeans have been a second skin to me.
Even in the sweltering hot Kansas City summers I can't help but want to wear jeans, like all the time. Denim just feels so great to me, but sometimes I feel that skinny jeans are too casual and confining. I've been looking into other pants to try and I came across these Brandy Melville Susannah Harlem Pants. Though I really wish I was taller they are immensely comfortable and give me a loose look and vibe that I yearned for. I am excited to see how I can transition them into the fall ^_^

Last week my fabulous friend Katie Campbell (who has also been killing it at College Fashionista took some pictures of me wearing my favourite new dress. When I got home from college I was so stressed out upon not having ample space in my closet. So I decided to give in and sell a few pieces of mine on Vinted. Thus far it has been pretty successful! You have the option to swap or sell and I've been swapping a whole lot! Oops! Do you want to know what I swapped for this Anna Sui dress? A gold clutch I used once for prom last year! Pretty sweet deal, huh?
Well I am wearing an Anna Sui dress, my beloved silver birkenstocks, and Sephora's "Escape to Rio" lipstick in Neon Rouge Bikini (I'm obsessed). Hope summer is treating all of you! What are you spending your summer doing? I found out pretty recently I'll be going back home to NYC for a week and spending some time in the Poconos!
