October Sephora Play Review

November 18, 2015

As the 2016 election progresses I'm believing more and more that everyone should get a Sephora Play subscription. The subscription is revolutionary. I know this is the October box but I promise it's not just me being lazy, my box shows up at my doorstep pretty late in the month. However what I do receive definitely outweighs the slow shipping. This months theme was secrets to dewy skin, and the products lived up to that promise.

Boscia Detoxfying Black Cleanser & Mini Konjac Cleansing Sponge with Bamboo Charcoal
I've always wanted to try the konjac cleansing sponge trend but since I have a Clarisonic I didn't really see the point. I really do like this cleanser, but prefer the revitalizing black hydration gel which feels more refreshing to me. However I did enjoy trying out the combination as an alternative to my Clarisonic. The mini konjac sponge was a bit frustrating as it was hard to use, but still cool.

Sephora Pearl Mask
After a long week of exams I put on this face mask, re-watched Gilmore Girls for the millionth time, and worked on my portfolio. These face masks are definitely the 1%. They're cut out well and you don't have to rinse after using. They definitely made my face feel saturated in hydration. I will definitely be buying another Sephora brand face mask.

Dr. Jart+
This semester I definitely have been a lot lazier in terms of putting a full face on each day. I just don't see a reason to waste good makeup on my 8.30 AM or 5.30 PM. Granted my skin hasn't been completely manic this semester I gravitate towards this little cream. This is a natural no makeup look kinda product. I enjoy the coverage I receive but wish it would suggest an applicator. I would suggest using your hands (I hate this method particularly) instead of a brush because the cream sets with some lines upon brush usage. Oh and this cream is $48 dollars at Sephora so I probably shouldn't get us all too attached. I like mixing it with my Sephora brand foundation for a more natural color/coverage.

Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Instant Fusion Treatment Toner
I used to be a big toner girl in high school and my freshman year of university, preferring Avalon Organics. However I try to simplify and don't tone unless I receive products. I overall like this toner as it compromises my need to use anti-ager after I moisturize. I quite like the smell and the hydrating feel of this toner. I don't think I would purchase this.

Belief the True Cream - Aqua Bomb
Ok face creams are by far my most favorite thing I get in Sephora Play because we all need face cream, right?  I preferred the Ole Henriksen's Sheer Transformation cream in my September Sephora Play box. This cream didn't quite feel as moisturizing in the morning. The Play Book suggests to use this cream as a face mask in the winter.

Atelier Cologne
This cologne came with a quirky postcard I immediately sent to my friend Stephanie in Pittsburgh. I then proceeded to lose this cologne somewhere. However the overall scent is a genuine citrus with essential oils. Oh and it sells for $125 at Sephora... So I hope it turns up eventually...

Overall I was most definitely satisfied with this box and would certainly buy a face mask or two!

What would you do with the $10? I would buy something from the Starbucks holiday collection! I'm also on Tradesy now in case any of you want to follow me ^__^ See you soon!

  1. This sounds like such a fun little package to get in the mail. I never take the time to try face masks, but maybe I would if I didn't have to rinse it off. #lazy

    1. It's so fun! I don't spend as much money at Sephora anymore and this is a better way to still get products but at a reasonable price. I also hate rinsing face masks- I'm super lazy too! These masks are so luxurious, you'll have to try them and let me know! Hope you have a great break!
