February Sephora Play 2017 Review

March 24, 2017

This past month I took my February Sephora Play box to t.Loft, a Kansas City based health cafe with fresh and natural food and beverages. My new friend, Klem helped me capture this month's box, and I'm so excited to share. These are some of my favorite beauty photos, yet! Follow Klem on Insta, here!

NARS Velvet Lip Glide in Bound – 0.07 oz, Value $9.10

I'm always looking for lip products that look like/enhance my natural lip color. Some days I just want a really nice natural lip look. When I tried this product I was amazed at how close it looked to my natural lip. This is a really light lip color and it feels very lightweight. Honestly I feel like I just couldn't hate this product because the packaging is so damn cute. Next time I visit Sephora I want to try a bolder berry from this product.
Too Faced Lip Injections Glossy in Milkshake – 0.03 oz, Value $4.71

I was really weary to try this product because lip injection just sounds freaky honestly. This is a lip gloss that helps create a long term plumped lip. Ingredients consist of jojoba and avocado oil. When I first tried this product on it made my lips feel like they were on fire. I was not a big fan of the initial feeling. However, that wore off and I ended up putting NYX's SMLC in Abu Dhabi on top and it paired well with this gloss. Definitely would not recommend this product.
Sephora Lashcraft Length + Volume Mascara – 0.094 oz, Value $3.42

This mascara was so cute. I'm currently reviewing it this week during my spring break. Review to come for this mini.
Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream – 0.17 oz, Value $10.20

I'm not a big eye cream gal but I did like this eye cream which reduces dark circles, bags, and puffiness. I didn't notice anything unusual but I did like this cream. It has coffee beans, panax, ginseng, and magnolia extract.
Clinique Pep-Start Hydroblur Moisturizer – 0.24 oz, Value $4.56

I always love when I am in a time of need and Sephora Play saves the day. I had been home for a weekend and was in desperate need of a moisturizer. This Pep-Start saved the day. Although I can't say I had noticeable results it was hydrating and a nice mini! Instantly my skin feels hydrated when I apply this cream which is a major plus for my normal skin.
Marc Jacobs Divine Decadence – 0.04 fl oz, Value $2.28

I was really excited to get this perfume since the packaging was so darling and I'm a Marc Jacobs fiend. Seriously. 2 pairs of eye glasses, wallet, handbag, laptop case, iPad case, and I'm eying a key holder. I'm not a big MJ perfume lady though which is surprising since I own almost everything MJ or MBMJ. All my girlfriends love Daisy, Lola, etc. but it has surprisingly never been for me.

That's why I was so excited to try Divine Decadence, because it seemed so different than the other fragrances and because it is a warm floral with notes of plum, rose, jasmine, and amber. At first it has a really strong scent when you spray but I think as the day goes on the scent gets a bit more muted and blends with your oils which I like a lot more.
Overall this box had about a $35 value. I was really pleased with the selection this month. Although I didn't love the Clinique moisturizer it was still a great addition to February's box. I loved the moisturizer, eye cream, and NARS Lip Glide. I hope they include more NARS Lip Glides in future bags. I adored this little pink smitten bag. Out of the 14 bags I've received in Sephora Play this one has to be my favorite, or maybe November. I included my Miu Miu sunglasses case in this little pink mix. Honestly if you're going to buy sunglasses I suggest Miu Miu 12RS or 12RSA, these are some current sunglasses favorites and the packaging is so beautiful =') Need to review my shades soon!

I'm trying to gear up for the BI sale in April, what's on your list? I definitely will be getting an ABH eye shadow in Birkin, maybe a Mara Hoffman for Sephora Collection: Clutch, and some KVD products.

Hope you all are having a beautiful week, I am in Virginia enjoying my spring break and trying not to do homework. Ciao!

  5. I love the photos in this post, your friend is so talented! That nars lippie was definitely the star of the box :) The lip gloss also freaked me out :/ I wore it for 40 minutes and it was still tingling! I tried the eye cream once and it felt nice :) It also sounds like it has a nice ingredient list!

  8. I hate the feeling of lip plumper products, too. I actually have angioedema when I eat certain foods and use certain products I'm allergic to. Basically, my lips swell REAL bad and looks like I got really bad lip injections, lol. I used to get it really bad during the first few weeks of spring due to the pollen and when I'd go to the doctor, the nurses would always tell me at least I can get the Kylie look for free, haha. Anyway, that Nars lipstick looks so pretty, I love the color! Thanks for sharing, girlie, and I hope you have a great weekend ahead!

  24. Ooh, you got a great box this month! I'd be the most excited about the NARS lip cream. That looks beautiful, and I've heard great things about it. I've been wanting to try the Too Faced lip injection, but I've heard mixed reviews on it so I'm not sure that I'm ready to drop money on it at this point. Lol. The Clinique Pep Start would also be something I'd like to try. Thanks for sharing with us! Let me know if you'd like to follow each other on GFC (Google+) and/or Bloglovin. :)
