June Sephora Play 2017 Review

August 4, 2017

And just when I wanted to cancel Sephora Play back in April they hook me back in. I can't even begin to exclaim my excitement when I saw the Kat Von D mini in my bag and a couple samples I enjoyed back from previous bags! My beauty routine has been in a rut lately so I've really been looking forward to these samples.
Tarte Tarteguard 20 Tinted Moisturizer in Medium

I've been wearing a lot of tinted moisturizer lately since this hot weather makes it fruitless to put on foundation. I liked this tinted moisturizer a lot because there is quite a bit of SPF in it! Overall the coverage is nice and I don't need very much for light to medium coverage. My only complaint is that whenever I squeeze this mini it shoots out everywhere so I have to be super conscious when I use it.

It's hard to not be happy with a Sephora Play bag when there's a Kat Von D ELL in it. I'd been looking for a new colour for summer that's learning more to the purple side. This shade is technically a bold fuchsia but its a really fun and unusual shade. I've been wearing it with a more muted ABH Modern Renaissance look. In real life I think this shade is a lot more purple but it shows up on camera pinker.

The April 2016 box had a Briogeo Don't Despair Repair Deep Conditioning Mask-5.25 oz so I am a bit familiar with Briogeo. My hair is in real need of a haircut so I was excited to try this leave-in defining creme! Despite not having curly hair this leave in treatment was nice and added a good amount of volume to my hair and helped bring out some natural waves!
Mugler Alien

Alien is a floral scent with jasmine, cashmeran wood, and amber. Its a floral and woody perfume! I found myself picking it up more times than not to wear it. Although I wouldn't buy it, it was a nice sample to have to shape things up!

Although this product was already in my June 2016 Sephora Play box I really like it. Ever since my 9 year old Chi hair straightener died I've been really contemplating whether I need another hot tool in my life. This product is great for those lazy days when I don't feel like straightening my hair and prefer a more blown out/wild look.

As seen in my 2016 March Sephora Play Review I was a big fan of this product. It really smooths down your skin which I need in this hot Kansas weather.

Overall this was a great box. Probably because I got a KVD ELL in a sample color I've never tried, but also because I received samples that I use up fairly quickly and enjoy!

What have you been loving lately?

  2. Wow the selection is great! I don't think we have Sephora Play in my country, I wish there was because I'd love to try it out. When I was in college I hated the smell of Alien, but now in my early 30s I love it!

  10. What a great line of products you've received, girl! I've heard nothing but great things about Kay Von D's lipsticks, which I need to try myself. That color is so pretty and I know for sure looks amazing on you! I've also been hearing a lot about Tarte lately. I've loved their full coeverage foundations, but never tried any of their tinted moisturizers before, I have to! Thanks for sharing, girl, and I hope you have a great day!
