August Sephora Play 2017 Review

September 28, 2017

Hi friends! I'm back fashionably late with my Sephora Play review. Can you believe its been 2 years since I've been a Sephora Play subscriber? I still can't get over how I joined. I got an email while I was in Barbados and my cousin Kristi generously gave me her phone so I could feverishly type in my shipping and payment information. This subscription service has been a great experience and has helped me (almost) revive my VIB status, not sure whether that's good or bad considering I haven't been a VIB for almost 4 years. Nonetheless, let's dive in!

Clinique Dual-Ended High Impact Mascara & Primer Duo
This mascara seems interesting. I've been using a variety of mascaras and this mascara is completely different than any I've ever tried before. It has a primer side and a mascara side. You apply several coats of primer and then flip to the mascara. Wow this mascara is incredible. Although the primer side makes your eyelashes look quite sickly it certainly does the job. I've used the primer with a Dior mascara and tried the mascara side with the regular Clinique mascara and honestly get about the same effects but the Clinique side is a little bit less clumpy. If my less wasn't filled with endless sample mascaras I'd stick to this one, but overall definitely a winner.
Living Proof Perfect HairDay Dry Shampoo
A little salty because this is the third time I'm getting this dry shampoo >.< but I was in need of some since I broke up with shampoo and conditioner for the second time.
I was excited to try this mini because I basically wear foundation or some form of tinted moisturizer almost everyday. My Pantone Color IQ is 3Y06 and comparing it to other foundations I wear this shade beige is slightly darker, but since I've tanned up so much I had a feeling this shade might work for me.

Overall this foundation offers a pretty medium coverage, but its beautiful! I tried working this foundation with a RT beauty blender and my Mara Hoffman for Sephora Pro brush #56 but liked the results with the beauty blender better. The foundation doesn't work very well with a brush in my opinion and gets stuck in the upper bristles. Overall great coverage definitely medium and pretty application. I would wear this foundation to work on a regular basis because you don't need very much if you're looking for solid medium coverage and the longevity is great. 12 hours later and I'm pleased with the result on my normal skin! I would consider buying a full size of this foundation once I'm done with my UD Weightless!
Initially I thought this was a face wash but this is a skin-resurfacing treatment which uses natural plant enzymes and microdermabrasion crystals to reveal radiant skin. This product is really gritty and the microdermabrasion crystals are amazing. My skin felt amazing afterwards! This product is super exfoliating and the mini retails for almost $9. I also noticed some of my acne scars disappeared with the help of this product!
Always excited to try a beautyblender product! This beautyblender is for the hard to reach places like around your nose, inner eye, and chin. The Play Book suggests that you clean after every use. Easy for me now because I bought the beautyblender solid cleaner. So I figured if I was going to use this thing I would go the whole mile. I used Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Concealer with it and it blended seamlessly, really incredible! I don't own the original beautyblender and I would go out on a limb and say you don't need to own both if you have a really good brush or something you like to use for face products, but this mini is magical!
DOLCE & GABBANA Light Blue
Such a pretty and delicate fragrance. A fresh scent with notes of apple, bluebell, white rose, jasmine, bamboo, amber, and musk. I don't think I've ever tried this perfume before today which really surprises me. This is a really beautiful perfume and I'd love to get a sample with a spritzer!

Overall I'm pleased with this box! Surprisingly I'm not that salty about the dry shampoo since my break up with shampoo conditioner is back on (challenging, but my hair is growing faster). Loving the foundation, Lancer's the Method Polish, and the Mini beautyblender! Cheers to a great Sephora Play box. What have you been trying and loving or hating?!

  8. It's a shame that you have had a lot of that dry shampoo in the past, but great you can put it to use at the moment and that you liked so many of the other products in your box! :)

Hope you have had a good weekend! I'm currently enjoying the long weekend as it's a public holiday today in Brisbane :)

  15. This is a huge collection of makeups review. Thanks to share this beautiful makeups review. It's really helpful for makeups. I believe makeup is an important part of women's life. I can't imagine a single day without my makeups. I love to use my favorite Liquid Matte Lipsticks for my lip.
