Getting Back to Business

September 17, 2018

Today's post was created in collaboration with Basic Invite. As always, all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that make this blog possible!

I feel like whenever I run out of eyeliner or nail polish remover I am always so quick to refill them. Although I don't use my Amazon Echo to refill anything the thought is tempting to simply ask Alexa. However, when it comes to talking about my professional life the one object I have yet to refill is business cards. *Cue wah wah wah noise* It seems like an eternity since I have gotten them reprinted. In my early blogging days I was really quick to give business cards out which was something most 19 year olds don't do haha. Now in my twenties I find myself at a crossroads and offering my Instagram handle or to connect on LinkedIn a bit too much.  Alexa, "Can you help me redesign and reprint business cards?" I  find myself wondering, plus the eternal questions. Do I redesign? If so, do I just sell my name since I'm a young professional in KC? Do I keep the old blog logo? Have you guys seen clear/plastic business cards, what about those? They're pretty cool?!
While I haven't found all the answers to my questions I found Basic Invite. Basic Invite is a customized stationery company located in Saint George, Utah. I have used so many online websites and printers to make business cards, but what I love the most about Basic Invite is that they help take the drama out of creating and printing business cards.

Like I said I have used a lot of online websites to create business cards, but Basic Invite has been the easiest and most user friendly. Seriously. When you first create a design they don't harass you to create a login or to sign up to prevent you from seeing designs. For real. They don't even ask for your information until check out and you can complete the checkout as a guest! So basically you can make a design stress free. Basic Invite also has super beautiful pre-made designs which help take the headache out of creating a completely new business card. Which for me is super convenient considering I still am not sure what style I'm going for. However, you can upload your own logo to a custom design which is a nice addition. I also love that you can print however many you want. Need 25? Sure! The price not be as cheap as printing 200, but still! I don't always want a lot of business cards so this takes one more stress out of the process.
I decided to go with clear/plastic business cards. They are exactly what I'm looking for. Clean, sleek, and perfect for what I need in terms of networking. I love the font on this pre-made design. Basic Invite also has a BEAUTIFUL font selection. However, I do wish that there was an option to add social media icons to these cards as my @ is both my Twitter and Instagram handle, but I understand that could be a hindrance to the user friendly nature of their site. I also made another clear business card that I love, but it has my cell on it. I love you guys but we aren't there yet haha, just DM me.

Here are some factors aside from what I mentioned above that make Basic Invite really stand out to me.

Fun Foil - Foil is such a unique touch to business cards. Its definitely one of those details that can prevent your business card from entering a recycling bin. Foil cards are available in gold, silver, and rose gold. I am personally a gold person but could invest in rose gold, so pretty! You can choose flat or raised foil on all of Basic Invite’s foil designs. I did not get any foil cards but its definitely on my mind for my next order.

Almost Unlimited Colors - Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers almost unlimited color options with instant previews online. This is really important for me because my logo has a certain shade of magenta and it NEVER prints right. Yet with Basic Invite, once you select a design you can change the color of each element on the card to over 180 different color options so you can make sure the card is exactly right. This is huge for me!

Over 40 Different Colors of Envelopes - *Cue Oprah's voice* Who loves colored envelopes?! Basic Invite has over 40 different colors when it comes to their envelopes. Envelopes are literally the icing on the cake of all stationery so this is a really cool feature. All of their envelopes are peel and seal so no gross/tiresome licking!

Custom Samples - Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows you the ability to order a printed sample of the actual invitation and business card so you can see exactly how it will print as well as the paper quality before you ever have to place your final order. I am a really big stationery person so the weight of paper really makes a difference for me. I am really particular about the finish of paper as well so the ability to see samples is amazing. I wish I would've known about Basic Invite when I sent out my grad invites last summer.

Address Capturing Service - Basic Invite yet again takes out the drama out of invites by offering an address capturing service that allows you to simply share a link on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or any other form of social media to request your friends or family’s addresses which will be stored in your account and can then be selected during the design process. For those holiday card lovers Basic Invite offers recipient address printing at no cost on all holiday card orders. I feel like September just crept up on us and the holiday season will be here before we know it so get your holiday cards now!

Right now Basic Invite is offering 15% off with coupon code: 15FF51
So friends, what do you think of my new business cards? I think I need one of those cute holders or Kate Spade holders. Too extra, oh well! P.S. this stapler and tape dispenser are super old (Nate Berkus for Target) in case you're curious. Hope all is well with you friends. I am awaiting the cooler weather and the transition to fall! I have been busy with grad school and work, but have been hustling with cool blog projects. Get ready!
