Perfectly Printed

December 7, 2018

Is it crazy that winter is my favorite season for clothes? I love layers! Any opportunity to wear turtlenecks and put a hat on, I'm here for. I have been challenging myself to re-wear my closet with the addition of a few necessary pieces.
I think a lot of people think what you wear to work has to be boring, which is so far from the case. I bring you exhibit A, these pants! The J. Crew garden pant in midnight floral jacquard, long gone. I bought these off Poshmark for $25. While these pants are from a summer collection I still love the pops of color in the fall/winter. They're so vibrant, which helps so much with the dreary cold weather.
You can definitely dress up and dress down these pants. I typically wear a white or black top with these pants to keep it simple, but there's a lot of different ways to wear them. The iconic Jenna Lyons probably would pair them with a well tailored striped blouse or striped t-shirt.
I love breaking out hats during the winter. I've had this hat since I was a freshman in college. I think the trick to hats is the more Indiana Jones the better! At least that's my rule of thumb.
I still can't believe its December. I finished my shopping in early November, and wrapped presents with my Mom on Thanksgiving. I'm sure some odds and ends will pop up in between. Curse Target and deals. I am so excited for the holidays and to be able to enjoy them now. I have found the perfect holiday dress from Poshmark and Christmas tree! After ordering three trees and returning two, I found a 6 ft light pink one, basically the tree of my dreams for under $100.
I finished my stats final on Thursday and spent the day relaxing, drinking a Gingerbread latte, reading something other than my stats textbook, and getting my nails done (evergreen of course). I am so excited for a break from school. This is really my only long break since I don't get a summer break =( Wishing everyone a happy and mindful holiday season! Remember to treat yourself with the same love, compassion, and care that we give to our loved ones.
