Spring Favorites

April 29, 2019

Spring has finally sprung in KC! I keep finding myself distracted by all the beautiful blooms and every single lilac bush I encounter. Its been a minute since I’ve written a spring favorites post, so I thought I’d write one while I’m feeling inspired this week.
Loving: Lilacs! My favorite part of spring has to be the lilacs. When I was little my childhood best friend had a lilac tree beside her home. I can still picture it. I was fascinated by this magical purple plant that smelled so lovely and had the most delicate little blooms I'd ever seen. I would inspect it daily wondering how this magical plant came to be. To this day the fascination has never gone away. The smell of lilacs transports me back to a simpler time. I stop, smell, and inspect every single lilac tree I encounter as if I was still 6 years old. Lilacs are spring's best gift.
Watching: Killing Eve. I forget how much I love this show. Equal parts intense yet comedic all at once. Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer are just life changing. Plus Jodie Comer's character, Villanelle is low-key a style icon.

Listening to: Billie Eilish - WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO. I am OBSESSED with Billie. This record is EVERYTHING. It shows such talent, range, and creativity. To top it all off Billie is only 17 years OLD! Her show in KC is sold out but I must go! My favorite songs on this record are: Bellyache and Bury Your Friend. I honestly love every track on this album though.
Eating: Lots of Indian food! I can’t get enough Butter Chicken these days. My favorite Indian restaurant in KC is India Palace. The food is great and the service is phenomenal.

Wearing: I have been bringing out the GG Mini Marmont bag more and more. This has been one of my favorite outfits I have worn during spring. I wore this to see Aziz Ansari at the Midland a week ago.
Obsessing over:  I have been super into the OPI Tokyo Collection. At first I wasn’t very impressed with the color selections, but when I saw them at the nail salon they were so vibrant and fun. My last manicure color was in this beautiful orange yet coral shade called Tempura-ture is Rising! My best friend spoiled me with 3 more polishes from that collection.

Aside from my current spring favorites I am looking forward to visiting Washington D.C. soon to spend some time with my Dad, see the 1975, and attend a wedding with my best friend. There is so many exciting things happening so soon in life. I can’t wait to share them with you.

So, what do you love about spring? What is making you happy right now?

  9. I'm also fascinated with purple trees but there are only Jacaranda and Wisteria trees here, I'm not sure if there's a lilac tree specifically. I've been wanting to check Killing Eve, I heard good reviews about it and now I'm even more curious to see it.
