My Hair Routine

May 8, 2019

Before I left for undergrad I asked my hairdresser Alex to give me a new look. We decided to go with a more cohesive and straightforward look with one set length and a middle part. Since then my hair care routine has become much more manageable and it has been easier to tame my wild mane. As someone who works full time and goes to school my hair care routine is still constantly changing. Here are a few products I'm using to take care of my hair right now.
MOROCCANOIL Moisture & Shine Shampoo Fleur D'Oranger*
This is an everyday shampoo for all hair types. Its supposed to cleanse and boost shine. The thing I love about MOROCCANOIL products aside from the way that they smell is that they really do cleanse. I am amazed at how the oily sections of my hair feel so abundantly clean after I use MO products.
This is an argan and coconut oil infused conditioner for all hair types. It helps detangle and boost shine. I like the bright orange packaging. Its such a pick me up in the shower. The scent is on the lighter side which I like!

The invisibobble is one of my holy grail products, its a elastic band in a spiral shape. It helps prevent creasing and doesn't tangle your hair. I didn't realize how bad I loved these until I went on a roadtrip and all I had was an old fashioned elastic band that knotted and creased up my hair. I couldn't fix the creases without a straightener which I didn't actually have. I went to Walgreens and bought a pack of invisibobbles for the rest of the trip. They are so worth it.

This is an argan oil-infused hair styler with a light formulation that can be used for conditioning, styling and finishing. I use this treatment for a number of reasons. I like that it makes my hair shiny, smooth, and helps my hair dry faster.

In addition to the MOROCCANOIL treatment I use this TRESemme product. My hair looks less dry and shinier with this guy.

I have a love hate relationship with dry shampoo but a grapefruit dry shampoo is life changing (grapefruit is my favorite...everything). This dry shampoo helps build volume into your hair and is vegan/cruelty free. Overall I like this dry shampoo and it helps the second and third day hair so much.

I use all these products in harmony. I tend to wear my hair down most of the week but sometimes I'll do a mixture of a french braid and a bow or a full on french braid. It helps keep the oily hair tame. Eventually I'd like to get more adventurous with my hair. I'd really like to lighten half of my hair to a lighter brown but who knows when I'll finally do that.

How do you take care of your hair?

  6. Your hair looks so long and healthy! I've only tried MoroccanOil's original shampoo/conditioner line but they were a tad heavy for my fine hair. These seem so be lighter!
