Fine, Fresh, Fierce Voxbox Review

March 17, 2017

Happy Friday loved ones! It's officially Spring Break for me and I'm loving my time off. Today, I'm sharing my Fierce Voxbox which I received complementary of Influenster. The theme of this box is all about beauty and self-care products that make you feel your best and look gorgeous. With school keeping me so busy this box was a nice surprise and I'm excited to share my review today! This post is brought to you by the wonderful Klem, who helped document this post as we continue our creative collaboration together. Check out our first post in our collaboration here, and follow Klem on instagram here.
I have been so eager to try Madam C.J. Walker's products after I learned about her legacy in my entrepreneurship class. Madam C.J. Walker was the first self-made female millionaire in America. This video on her beauty culture is a pretty powerful watch, check it out. Here is a NPR podcast from the archives on Madam C.J. Walker as well.

This hair oil is for damaged or dry hair. This product is light-weight and helps smooth and moisturize hair. As a self proclaimed hot tool addict, (can't quit my hair straightener honestly) this hair oil is magic! After one use of using this product my hair felt rejuvenated. I put a couple drops of this on when my hair was wet, and was delighted when my hair felt hydrated. I have a silk pillowcase and I felt that it helped retain the oils of this product better than usual. There is a slightly sweet smell to this hair oil that I wasn't particularly fond of, but other than that I loved this product. My hair is noticeably less dry/dull, yay!

This is a sulfate-free shampoo with argan oil, organic shea butter, and almond milk. I'm excited to try this and am waiting til I finish my current bottle before I try the sample. An interesting tidbit is that there is marshmallow root extract is in this shampoo and it helps detangle hair while helping to create a weightless anti-humidity coating.

SheaMoisture Argan Oil & Almond Milk Smooth & Tame Blow Out Crème

This blow out creme tames frizzy, fine, straight, and wavy hair. I was a bit hesitant because most blow out cremes are all talk and no work. This cream has marshmallow root extract and cherimoya. I was amazed when I put about a quarter size in my hair how voluptuous and strong it felt. Plus my usually lifeless hair looked more put together and styled. My lifeless bangs framed my face delicately and my hair had a beautiful amount of volume. I am worried that this product is going to wear off and not work throughout the spring, but my fingers are crossed. A full size of this product is headed to my vanity soon.

Mint chip is a bright minty grin with a little gold shimmer. It's such a pretty color for spring. With spring starting surprisingly early in Kansas. This is a springy shade and as we have returned back to winter weather its nice to have such a bright and fun color in my collection. I am loving this color on my toes. I also really want to try Pink Velvet, a textured bright pink polish from the collection.

Vaseline always saves the day for me. I had a viral infection a few weeks ago and my nose had gotten so dry from abrasive tissues. Using Vaseline saved my nose and revived it. Vaseline is always my go to when my normal skin feels like being dry. There are so many uses for Vaseline in the winter.

Carefree® Acti-Fresh® (not pictured)

These liners were great for the lighter days of my period. They are also so tiny and easily fit into a bag, backpack, etc.
I feel like Spring Break is unusually late this year, but I'll take it! Although a lot of things have changed over the past four years, my chronic over-packing for holiday breaks hasn't. Is anyone else like that? I keep trying to convince myself I don't need 10 lipsticks for 11 days of break but it's a challenge. I'm spending some time in OP/Kansas City, and then I'll be in Virginia for 5 days (trying not to do homework or study for the GMAT). I'm also planning on visiting the University of Kansas to tour their campus for graduate school today. I also want to visit the National WWI Museum & Memorial in KC and still need to see Lego Batman too! So many plans!

What are your Spring Break plans/what did you do over Spring Break?

  11. I haven't heard of the Madam C.J. Walker line before, until now! I just finished watching the video you've linked and it was great learning about how the various lines came about and what makes each different; I'll definitely be checking out the line! The SheaMoisture shampoo also sounds great. It's such a popular brand at my local Targets, that they barely have their products in stock when I go, so I'll have to purchase online I guess, haha. Thanks for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have a great weekend ahead!
