November Favorites

November 30, 2020

October ended with a full moon and my heart was ready for a new month of possibilities. I've never been much of a fan of November. Oddly enough, it did not disappoint this year.

Here's  some things I loved in November:

The West Wing Weekly podcast

This podcast is phenomenal. I am a big fan of Hrishikesh Hirway. However, the banter between him and Joshua Malina is truly delightful. I would highly recommend this podcast to anyone watching The West Wing (Which I would 100% recommend). Some of my favorite episodes of this podcast consist of 1.06: Mr. Willis of Ohio with Janel Moloney and 2.02: In The Shadow of Two Gunmen, Part II with Bradley Whitford.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

I'll be honest I kinda thought that the hype behind this mask was all talk. When I found it at TJ Maxx for $15 I figured I'd give it a shot, and I'm so glad that I did. My lips feel phenomenal after using it. As we head into a likely brutal winter this is such a little treat. My lips feel so soft and nourished the next day!

Dayglow live from Austin

Dayglow has easily been one of the best things to happen to me in 2020. Nevertheless, I simply love Dayglow. They aired a free performance from Austin, TX at the end of October where they performed a few songs off the record Fuzzybrain and it is incredible. There's a great cover of Everybody Wants to Rule the World (One of my anthems), and of course how can you ever get over Can I Call You Tonight? If you're like me, you can't.

Walks in the a.m.

The November weather has been beautiful in KC. I have been waking up early to get steps in and the crisp fall weather is so refreshing. It feels so nice to still feel the sun on my face.

I Don't Know How But They Found Me (iDKHOW) - Razzmatazz.

I discovered iDKHOW recently and love their indie pop-esque sound. If you're an alternative fan this is definitely an album worth giving a listen!

Zoom Yelp Elite Event with my favorite KC coffee shop Parisi

Due to the pandemic Yelp Elite events have shifted online. Recently Yelp KC and my favorite coffee shop Parisi partnered for a little coffee tasting where we got to try some of their roasts at home and catch up on a Zoom call. A super fun event that made me feel connected with the Yelp KC community again!

Mind the Gap Dash & Lily

You might have heard about Dash & Lily on Netflix, but before the series the book has been one of my all-time favorites since it was released back in 2010. It holds such a deep place in my heart. This year I was blessed with a third book in the D&L series. I enjoyed it thoroughly. It was exactly what I needed this month and gave me so much hope. Isn't it crazy when books can give us that feeling?

Twisted Peppermint candle from Bath and Body Works

What else is there to say? This candle is so therapeutic.

This month has been a good one. I spent some time with friends and family from a distance these past couple of weeks which I'm so grateful for. I have so many people in my life who are such a blessing. I can't ever string the right words together to describe how much the connection means to me, but know that it means the world. I'm hoping to have more content for you in December and '21 so stay tuned. I say this with love, talk soon.

  1. What a beautiful coat! it sounds like you've had such a nice November too - it's good you've had ways to still stay connected even while distancing! And scented candles will always be awesome!

Hope that your week is off to a great start! We spent the day shopping with my sister yesterday, it was so much fun :)

  4. You look lovely! I recently watched Dash & Lily series on Netflix (dare I say..in one night or two lol) and I really enjoyed the story line and main characters. I don't usually read romantic novels or love story books like that, but I might pick these up since I want to know what happens next (and I am very impatient haha). I am also glad you are enjoying the Laneige mask! It is my favorite, one tub lasts you ages. I recently ordered a new flavor and can't wait to try it xx

  8. I actually like November. I have good things about Lineige and I LOVE that coat you are wearing.

Ah indeed loungewear is still having a moment for sure. But silk PJ's are even better! And LOVE your bed frame BTW!
