Get Lippy

October 21, 2016

Hi friends! I'm back on the blog today to share this soft look and this lip mask!
I'm so excited to be working with nügg Beauty again to help spread the word about their new lip mask with the help of my friend Mallory from MalloryxTaylor. I've been a huge fan of the nügg Beauty line especially their portable and affordable face masks for some time now.

Their products are vegan, and I was excited to learn about this new lip mask, which has liquorice root complex, irish moss extract, coconut oil, and shea butter in it. Who doesn't love to pamper themselves? For big nights out I always try to use a lip mask to keep my lip look lasting longer. I've never shared my pampering favorites but I thought I could share some of my favorite pampering products among the new nügg lip mask.
Although I've only tried one other lip mask- Lush's Santa Baby Lip Scrub which I had a few problems with, this lip mask is completely different. You apply a generous amount to your lips and leave it on for 20 minutes before wiping it off.

First off this product is nothing short of adorable, I love that it looks like a Golden Snitch.
The lip mask claims to hydrate, soften, and help plumpen lips. I can attest to all three of these things. My lips don't look like Naomi Campbell's by a long shot but they definitely feel plumper. I would like to try this mask again before a night out to see if it helps with lipstick wear.

The only downsides to this product was the length of this mask (20 minutes), the smell, and the consistency.  Personally 20 minutes is a really long time to have a product on for, and hard to factor in for a girl always on the go. A lot of bloggers said to use this mask while watching TV and I wholeheartedly agree. I re-watched an episode of Sex & the City while trying this. I didn't like the consistency or the smell of this product either, it's hard to describe exactly what I didn't like but I think the stickiness of the mask was strikingly different than the other nügg masks I've tried.

A few other pampering items I love are :

EcoTools delicate bath sponge I can never say no to a new pouf
a silk pillowcase
anything Bath & Body Works, love Twisted Peppermint as we move into the holiday season.
a great perfume, YSL Mon Paris is my newest favorite,
of course a good latte
& a good book, so excited to read the Twelve Days of Dash & Lily.
I'm wearing one of my softer looks, with a moto jacket of course while Mallory and I roamed our school's gardens. I've actually worn this dress before on the blog in a similar look, here.
Buxom's customizable eyeshadows are my new favorite thing. I'm wearing Invite Only, a matte terra-cotta, $12 but I had been on a quest for a matte shade that matched somewhat closely to my eyelids since Kat Von D's Unrequited was discontinued =( These shadows also have primer infused technology (I still prime, but hey!) Only downside to this eyeshadow is you have to buy a $2 case to hold the eyeshadow.

Wearing: Dress - Free People (exact), moto jacket - Nasty Gal (similar), nails - OPI Spoken From the Heart, lips - Lolita I KVD
I received these products complimentary from nügg beauty for testing purposes. All opinions are always, always, always my own

As always thanks for stopping by folks! Tune in next week for more!

  4. You are such a beauty, girl! I love that moto jacket paired with that lovely lavender dress, such a nice contrast! The lip mask sounds amazing and I love that it's vegan because my skin seem to only favor vegan products; I have incredibly sensitive skin! I'll have to keep this one in mind. Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you have the best weekend ahead, beautiful!

  5. The ingredients in the mask sounds awesome! Sucks that the consistency and smell are a bit off :( What didn't you like about the Lush lip mask? I was contemplating buying it since I've never tried any lip masks before.

I love the look! The soft dress looks so good with the moto jacket :) As always the photos are gorgeous!

    1. Yeah =( the time also is a bummer. Hmm its hard to put my finger on it but the texture of the Lush mask is so gritty and sand-like. If you take some out it comes out in a dense chunk and then its hard to rub that chunk on your lip (if it even makes it on your lip, half the stuff I dig out of my pot always fall on my floor). Plus it also stains your finger and leaves it quite sticky. I'm not sure if others experienced this same problem though. My friend has the bubblegum lip mask and she swears by it. I probably won't by another Lush mask for a long time. Thanks Mili!

  9. Love the pastel dress with the leather jacket, great combination! :)

It's wonderful the mask has such great results although it does sound tricky to use to heave to leave on for 20 minutes.

Hope you're having a great start to the weekend :)

  11. You look stunning! Your hair is gorgeous, I hated this mask tbh, I understand what you mean about the consistency. It felt like stretched out chewing gum on my lips to me. Great review xxx

    1. Awh thanks Kiran. What a bummer, I understand completely. I felt the same way at first but I really did like it after I tried it a second time. The texture is very off-putting.

  15. Wow a lip mask, sure sounds interesting but you are right 20 minutes seems to be way too long for a lip mask when the usual face mask only takes about 10-15 minutes! You look lovely (: x

  19. This is such a pretty look Sonia--I love the mix of the soft, feminine dress with the leather jacket. The lip mask sounds cool, although I agree that 20 minutes is a long time to have to leave on. I'm too impatient for that!!

  20. I think I have read about this brand before but personally have yet to try anything from them yet. I'm not sure if I will ever try a lip mask though, I find it to be gimmicky.
